Six army battalions called up under emergency orders to meet growing threat on Egypt, Syria borders [link to www.timesofisrael.com] in 2002 there was authorization for 30000 reserves as well as during the 2006 battle with Hezbollah - FYI. Looking more serious by the minute. OP you have mail - not urgent. Thanks for the information. Situation is the same as yesterday, except another 45,000 soldiers could come into play. |

Quoting: ^àTOn^ Are the US marines still in Israel ? Is the mil exercise still on in the strait of Hormuz ? US troops left Israel already (per public news) Mil Exercise has ended, but some nations are leaving things behind just in case. Morsi - yes, he is capable of some fireworks. Thanks, trying to catch up. I have the impression we we look at the real thing now. It is about time to kick some ass over there. Looking at the bright side .... once the arabs including Morsi got a good beating, the deterrence is reestablished for some time. I just hope, the IDF takes the gloves off this time. When do you expect boots in Gaza ? Boots are ready in the South. The rest of the call-up is for "all other precautions" at the moment and thus, Israel may wish to kick ass as quick as they can (the Brass wants to) and get out but it may take another 24 hours to ensure "all other precautions" are met also. No surprise if earlier though. |

Originally reprocessing was used solely to extract plutonium for producing nuclear weapons. With the commercialization of nuclear power, the reprocessed plutonium was recycled back into MOX nuclear fuel for thermal reactors.[2] The reprocessed uranium, which constitutes the bulk of the spent fuel material, can in principle also be re-used as fuel, but that is only economic when uranium prices are high. Finally, a breeder reactor can employ not only the recycled plutonium and uranium in spent fuel, but all the actinides, closing the nuclear fuel cycle and potentially multiplying the energy extracted from natural uranium by about 60 times.[3][4] Nuclear reprocessing reduces the volume of high-level waste, but by itself does not reduce radioactivity or heat generation and therefore does not eliminate the need for a geological waste repository. Reprocessing has been politically controversial because of the potential to contribute to nuclear proliferation, the potential vulnerability to nuclear terrorism, the political challenges of repository siting (a problem that applies equally to direct disposal of spent fuel), and because of its high cost compared to the once-through fuel cycle.[5] In the United States, the Obama administration stepped back from President Bush's plans for commercial-scale reprocessing and reverted to a program focused on reprocessing-related scientific research.[6] Nuclear fuel reprocessing is performed routinely in Europe, Russia and Japan. NOT SURE THEY HAVE USED THE RODS SUFFICIENT TO GET PLUTONIUM OR THEY ARE FACING A PROBLEM WITH THE REACTOR. GOOD FOR ISRAEL TO STRIKE! This tells me that Iran is a little worried about this action ending up on their shores. I'd love to know about supertanker traffic right now. DblTapViper |

You could read Liberman's comments that way - He said that Operation Pillar of Defense will end “when we achieve the three goals: peace, deterrence and elimination of long term terrorist tools. Then we will definitely stop the operation. Every time Hamas fires rockets, our response will be more and more difficult. Hamas tested us again and again, broke all the rules again and again and tried to produce a new reality. This operation was undertaken because of a lack of choice. It is not an adventure.” "I highly recommend that the Hamas leadership in Gaza not test us again,” warned the Foreign Minister. “Never think that Israel will not respond with greater force next time. If, G-d forbid, there is a next time, we will respond with much greater force. Nobody over there is safe, not Hamas Prime Minister Haniyeh and not others.” [link to www.israelnationalnews.com] |
