Rebels are advancing in CAR. The US began evacuating earlier today, but because of a security risk, had to stop. I don't have info on what the risk is. The weather was a little iffy and it was a little difficult getting to several locations. [ link to www.standardmedia.co.ke] Thanks - The Washington Post story said 40 Americans were evacuated from Capitol - but that could just be embassy staff & dependents... What the heck is going on in that part of Africa? It's like a whole region has just blown up...Are the French up to something? Iranians? Chinese? I have absolutely no clue what's going on (big picture) - but there's this area between the Horn of Africa & the Western Cape (east of Burkina to Kenya) that's turned into war zone... Given the bookends - it's worth looking into.. One of my dear friends has a son that is in the Marine's. He is in Africa (helicopter crew chief). All I know is they have been really busy there. He doesn't get to check in much with his momma. I will see her next week and post if she has anything to say that is relevant.
