We know it actually happened because one of Rep. Paul's aides took out a video camera and began taping when they began to harass Ms Paul from what I heard on a radio talk show that we cannot mention on this forum.
What I want to know is why didn't they guard RP's plane if they were so darn worried about someone planting a bomb!

The TSA doesn't know a good man when they are looking him in the face; or, patting him down as the case may be

If I were the TSA guy who was there?...I would've just said something like this, "Well we have a general non-specific threat of explosives being planted on this class of aircraft in this general region, but since it's YOU flying on this one, and I'm sure you don't us wasting money, infirnging on you libutty or even existing, we'll just let you go right through without checking for anything. Harry pull the bomb sniffing dogs off the runway, drop the check out on the aircraft, flight crew and ground personel for this one. If it was a commercial jet then yeah, TSA is doing it's job. The TSA has no business in private transportation....unless you want them pulling you over for no concrete reason, searching your car while you are late for a meeting.
Heck, why not have a TSA agent at every street corner. This way when ever anyone looks suspicious they can get searched.

btw, SHR, I always liked your write ups and you seem to have a solid, reasonable opinion. But this one I must disagree with.
First of all I doubt it was a "Jet", but maybe it was, they are hugely expensive to charter, much less own. I would also guess no matter what it was it wasn't owned by Ron Paul, so it was a commercially chartered flight even though it's classed as a "private aircraft".
Aircraft are not in the class of a passenger vehicle, far more capibility and far more potential to do damage to anything or anyone. It's why there is a different licensing, FAA specs and maintence procedures required, etc etc. Flying is also not a god given right, just like driving isn't and just like driving, there are different classes of vehicles and requirements to operate them, just like there is for aircraft.
Really it's all very silly and Ron Paul is just being the massive drama queen he is. He is always squealing that's it's all about ME because it's ME and not only didn't the TSA bother to check once he bitched?...no one knows what reason if any there was to check. He is a national political figure, but hey, if he wants to pretend that national political figures live a candy coated vacuum and are never under any threat whatsoever?...then that's his choice, and it seems like the TSA let him make it, hopefully if he ever does board an aircraft with a bomb on it that bomb explodes over some unpopulated area and doesn't kill anyone else, if it did?...oh well fuck them as long Dr magoo got to have his libutty, I'm sure someone will give a nice rah rah Dr Phul speech at those people funerals.
There's also a huge difference between driving a Ford Fiesta to some office and flying a 400mph aircraft at 30,000 ft covering a few states in a matter of hours. Just like there's a difference between operating a 53 ft long 60,000 lb articulated big rig down the road...which the DOT regulates.
Like I said, as long as there is some common sense applied I have no problem with some level of security and sanity being maintained, after all we are paying these nimrods to do just that and as I said, it is a constutional mandate that the federal govt maintains some level of safety for the general welfare of this country and we the people.....it really shouldn't be that difficult, but of course it mostly is, because apparently no one in charge can legislate any level of common sense, and that would include Ron Paul who has never been able to accomplish even a single second of that in all his decades soaking up time, money and space in congress.
Hopefully that was a one way flight in the opposite direction of DC because if he cannot find some sort of rational balance between bitching like a school gurl drama queen and having G5 "privately owned and operated" missile bombs flying all over the place?...he doesn't deserve to be there...oh wait he's not, didn't and couldn't...maybe that's why...
