I have to call B*** S*** on this story of falling 33000 feet and living.

New information is coming out that the aircraft was having mechanical problems and descended into a restricted military area and was shot down by the czechoslovak air force. At a lower altitude of about 1000 feet. Which makes the survival more believable. The communist governments in Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia made up a story to place the blame on Croatian separatists which were wanting more rights.
This way the Czechoslovaks were saved the embarrassment and the Yugoslavs were able to blame the Croatians.

The black box information was never made public and there were eye witnesses saying he aircraft was intact at a few hundred meters.
The crash site was also in a localized area, if it had exploded at 33000 feet pieces would have been scattered over tens of kilometers.

The survivor was treated as a national hero in Yugoslavia and had an interest in going along with the story.

This story is full of communist propaganda which blackens the real story of surviving the destruction of an airliner.
