Isaiah 40:22 New King James Version (NKJV) 22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. Proverbs 8:27 8:27 compass. “Compass” (Hebrew khug) is the same word as “circle” in Isaiah 40:22, as well as “compassed” in Job 26:10. All three clearly refer to the roundness of the earth, especially to the spherical nature of sea level, defining, as it were, the global shape of the earth. The Bible never teaches a flat earth, though the charge is frequently made.  circle of the earth means that the earth could very well be flat but certainly circular in shape. just like a pizza. that's why the top soil of the planet is called a "crust" becuase it is round in shape. so the whole universe is also flat on teh same plane. like if you draw a horizontal line and place all the sun and the planets along the same line. they are all positioned in the correct order and all level that's why we can see and observe teh horizon. if the planets were all jumbled up "ad hoc " the universe would be very messy place.
