I became Critically ILL yesterday (08/31/2012) after drinking milk with an expiration date 09/11/2012. Pic included.

When did you buy the milk?

It felt like it, but I know the gallon was fresh when I opened it. No air, then it kind of popped open, and the red ring was attached to the cap. I guess maybe I should save some of the droplets left in the milk in case I need to get it tested.

On 08/30/2012. The day before it was drank. It traveled in the car for 15 minutes, then right into the fridge which is cool enough to keep things from rotting. It didn't even taste funny, tasted good to me.

so no drink milk for a week or two...

especially if it has 9/11 on it

That is uncanny, I am seeing on the "US Farm Report" just now, about how Milk is going to be screened for something called Aflatoxin. never heard of it before, but apparently drought corn fed to cows causes this?

Surely, if you can prove it's the milk , you could claim dam ages from where the milk was produced . And furthermore you have a duty too do so, how many more bottles of poison are out there, think of all the kids that drink it .

you do understand that"Critically ILL " means being ill from something you will not recover from and may die!

I'm certainly not drinking any milk anytime soon, after hearing about this aflatoxin, I am reading it can cause vomiting in humans. And if enough is ingested it can cause liver damage. WTF, it all makes sense now, I got a bad batch of milk. I'm going to report it to Meijer.

I stopped breathing and they pumped my stomach. I would call that critically ill. But after they pumped my stomach and then I vomited for about 6 more hours (with nothing IN my stomach, just dry heaves) all of the sudden I was fine. They checked everything, said I probably ingested something bad, and sent me on my way. They did take blood though, no results yet though, but because of how fine I looked and sounded and how I was ok after that, they didn't see the need to keep my longer.

I was also sweating profusely. It was disgusting, really yucky, the first thing I did when I got home was take a nice long shower.

its some generic brand... and someone has already drunk a lil of it... prolly used in biscuits... i dont keep track of who eats or drinks what...

But to be honest... its kinda freaky... i dont know if you are trolling... no offense... or being honest...

But knowing I got a 9/11 milk same expiry that made you sick in my fridge is freaky...

and I wanna drink it more than I ever wanted to drink milk!

I'm not trolling bud. I'm just now figuring out why I was so damn sick yesterday. I stopped breathing and blacked out for a bit, I was sweating horribly, they pumped my stomach, that felt horrible. Then I couldn't stop throwing up, I would puke, nothing would come up, it kept happening. Then it would stop for a few minutes, then I'd get all sweaty and hot again and start puking. I hit over 103 during one of these moments.

I also got some kind of charcoal pills, but they said that wouldn't make me puke and puke like that. The bloodwork should be done later on today. I wonder if it will say I got poisoned with this Aflatoxin.

I don't know if it's ALL milk, but who knows? I live in Michigan. I got my milk from Meijer. But it's a generic type brand I believe.

I would consider going to the hospital or making yourself puke if you feel ill tonight. Make sure you get it all out.

Did the hospital agree that it was the milk or is that your own conclusion?? What else did you eat or ingest for the prior 24 hrs? Were you around someone else who had diarrhea or throw up? Did you eat mangos? (current salmonella outbreak). You may report your milk-aflatoxin (whatever it's called) suspected poison to the hospital. They may want to test. BTW - didn't they give you an i.v. drip anti-emetic? That's highly unusual if they didn't.

i'm from kentucky, mine is generic from Save A Lot
the plant ID's were different...
so its not from the same batch...

but i figured it was worth a shot..


also i wanted to try it... before anyone else drank a glass... the things you do for your family! lol

My blood's being tested now, results should be later today. I didn't eat anything 6 hours prior to drinking the milk. Other than that I had water. I felt fine, had the milk about 30 minutes or so before I went to bed. Then my g/f says I kept basically stopping breathing and was sweating really bad. She insisted we goto the hospital, but then I only got worse and worse. They gave me many IV's, before and after they pumped my stomach. It's all a blur though, I was running a really high temp. Then I took pills. But all I really remember is everytime I kept trying to throw up but nothing came up for hours and Hours this went on. But I'm totally fine now, completely fine. They are pretty sure whatever it was is gone from my system now. The initial blood tests were inconclusive and didn't show anything that they normally tested for? I'll know more tonight, the results will be online later this evening. Then I login with a number and ID they gave me and I should have the full results.

I drank my milk... I feel alright.

But i gotta run, had some things pop up that i gotta take care of.
But i will try to check back in tonight... Im anxious to hear the doctor results when you find them OP.
If for some reason something comes up and i dont reply... Wait a week and if i havnt replied or had any activity in a week... Yep im dead lol dying sucks

Well OP my milk was fine.
Its just local to the batch you unfortunately got ahold of.

Aflotoxins are what cause people to be allergic to peanuts.

Why suspect the milk? There are currently a number of intestinal bugs going around.

This was your sign. If there is pressure on the cap, then gases are building up in the gallon jug, which is an indicator the milk is not safe to drink.

You should have saved the evidence though. It may have been your gallon only, but you can never be sure. What if there are others? You've now destroyed the only evidence you had.

For whatever it's worth.....the whole date thing gives me the willies???
