I, also, am not a fan of either Romney or Obama, but what you are saying is correct. What was he suppose to do? Buy her a new home? My question has always been, "Why would anyone knowingly buy a piece of property that historically floods year after year & them stand around with their hand out expecting the rest of us to rebuild or replace your home after it floods?" Now, if this woman's home had never flooded before & the new levies in New Orleans caused this flooding, then I say present the bill to the Army Corp of Engineers. I also ask, "Why did we spend so..... many billions to protect New Orleans from flooding, when it is built below sea level in the first place?" It's always going to flood & eventually it will be reclaimed by the ocean. I guess it's the old, "We always do what we've always done because we've always done it". If you don't change, you will always get what you always got....nothing. Makes very little sense to me.

I'd be interested to know what exactly Romney should have done? I say give the guy a break on this one.

Thank you too- I don't think the man can exactly take the person by the hand and help them out, but I do think he should be more sensitive to someone's plight, and say to them let one of my assistant's see if they can hook you up with some help, or something to that effect.

He has the money, and I bet he has the connections to get hotel/motel rooms dirt cheap.

if insurance is expensive or wont cover you for flood damage due to its location and weather extremes, then you should not be building a house there.
