80's hair metal band from Tampa Bay that made limited rotation on MTV with this, possibly the cheesiest video ever, but a kickass song if you close your eyes and ignore the vid, lol!

I hear the similarities. There was and still is a pretty rocking music scene in my city. Lots of interaction between artists.

Even Janice Joplin played here, both onstage as well as dancing in a city fountain during an impromptu music festival in a downtown park. She was amazed the cops never came to close them down. "There's hippies in the fountain and nobody's bustin' them" [link to publications.winnipegfreepress.com]
