Endorsing Johnson would be the best thing Paul could do. Running himself now is a bit too late (plus I'm not sure what sort of ballot access he could get, some states have sore loser laws, so he couldn't get on the ballot because he lost is the republican primary). Endorsing Johnson would be throw a cat among the pigeons...

Romney or Obama is wasted vote

Logically I tend to agree with you. Plus, it wont play well politically if he announces a run so late. Adding to this that he more than likely couldnt get the 15% to participate in the debates. However, if he endorses Johnson who polls at around 8%. It might be enough to get Johnson past the 15% threshold and at least have our views represented in the fall debates.

3rd party hurt one of the 2 parties?...yes. It will freak them out. Look into rule changes after Ross Peroit. After Ralf Nader. The LAST thing this racket of a two party system wants is a 3rd party to tell the truth.
3rd party is the only hope for the usa. Without it we are doomed to a plutocracy managed by one of the two parties, who are basically the same.

A friend of mine worked as waiter for some type of fundraising event in MA. I guess mittens was expecting some important political figures to attend his fundraiser and I guess they were late or didn't show and mittens was pouting the whole night like a 5 year old who just had their lollipop taken away.

Dr. Paul makes the opposition scared. It's as simple as that.

If he was actually insignificant and your candidate (Robama/Obamney) was as awesome as you say, you wouldn't be on a message board shouting how insignificant Dr. Paul is, would you?

As has been said, Dr. Paul wouldn't be stealing votes. Robama was never going to get the vote of a true Paul supporter anyway.

In the eyes of the Paul faithful (of which I am one!) I would agree. But to get to the broader audience he needs to accept the fact that he needs to prepare for debates with a real coach that can help him to package his total message much more effectively. I was extremely disappointed by how poorly Paul handled many of the questions and opportunities in the debates.

I say that as a long term Paul supporter. This was his year and he blew it.

Here's what he should do:

1. Throw his support behind Gary Johnson
2. Gary Johnson announce that Ron Paul will be appointed Treasury Sec'y then Chairman of the Fed Reserve if he wins
3. Paul campaigns for Johnson

ya know its funny, the republicans were against Ron Paul all along, but the pundints like Rush, and Beck pushed Santorium, and Bachman, whom no one really likes knowing the people didnt, and that left Romney. They talked about how Romney wasnt a true conservative, and that they would prefer a different candidate, but now that hes the candidate their all for him! Boy he's great now by golly.
