Many of those discoloration patterns are caused from underground ice melt disturbing the lighter pale dusty layer the covers everything exposing the darker material underneath. Many of the patterns have a 3D effect to them making it appear as if there is vegetation.

While I believe there is some residual life still surviving on mars in a band around the polar ice caps that experiences seasonal melt and where cloud systems and weather has been observed forming... I believe most of these pics do not show anything of that sort.

...some of those "water flows" which appear to colorized as blue show "wave patterns" that people typically associate with water but these same kinds of patterns also appear in the desert ...the lighter the dust the more fluid like the appearance of those "waves". There is wind on mars and very fine dust EVERYWHERE which would naturally collect more in an depressed areas... including ancient water flows.

If any pics of truly blue water were taken on mars it would either be all of the news or suppressed. Do not be fooled by photo colorization that these things are more then they are. Anyone can make these "enhancements" to these pictures. If I am wrong please someone like the original NASA unenhanced source photo.

There is water on mars mostly in the form of ice just under the dusty surface that periodically melts and refreezes creating a kind of dusty frozen soup that could be host to thriving micro organisms or perhaps even something bigger like small bugs or worms? May be some areas where plants actually do grow during the melt season... perhaps quickly being covered in dust obscuring it during the dry season?

...but like I said most of these photos showing water and "plants" actually show nothing more then dust patterns caused by wind and melt.

NASA has been BUSTED beyond doubt for messing with the colors and hiding the real colors.

Yup... but by compensating and adding colors that you think might have been there before doesn't prove anything.

NASA doesn't seem to be as bad about red shifting their photos as they used to be.

What are you talking about? No, it is not about adding colors I think is there, it is about them REMOVING colors that ARE there, and proven to be there!!! Look at the calibration pad of the rovers, got 4 colors, red, green, blue, yellow. Check how they turn that into Yellow, Brown, Red, Dark red!

I should have clarified... the pics I am mainly referring too are the ones that are very distinctly deep dark blue about 2 min in.

Tell me that is not obviously colorized!

...if that blue had been colored red it would have looked just as distinct and unusually dark just as it does in the color dial picture.

I thought I seen a 1974 AMC Gremlin in one of the frames.

As I understand it the public impression that this is an uninhabitable "red" planet is a cause for concern for TPTB.

If it appeared too habitable there would be heightened public interest in fast tracking exploration and eventual habitation(leading to eventual terraformation)... which isn't acceptable right now to the current inhabitance there. Why do you think so many Mar's missions have failed in the past? Some under very mysterious suspicious circumstance... they don't want us getting too close. We can't even manage the planet we are on now let alone talk to each other so what business do we have colonizing elsewhere?

Back in 1960 (not sure of exact year) my parents were watching the tv when the scheduled program stopped and a transmission came through talking about how people lived on mars and that the earth was meant to have destroyed itself but amazing earth continued against the odds.

The people in the doco said that they had risked their lives to get the message out.

When the doco stopped the program that had been playing resumed as if nothing happened.

My parents have searched for this doco ever since but there is no record of it.
