Turned on my old laptop last week for first time in 2 years, and 44 out of 63 of my saved very good you tube sites are gone, and you can tell 12 others have been forced to sell out, or taken over. You nailed this one OP, too bad we've probably also made the list.

This is a great Youtuber I've been following for a few years. The guy is a riot.

Its true. I had money coming in from google adsense and when I tried to get them to send me a check for the money they owed me, they disbled/deleted all my accounts and said that they could not tell me why and that I can never have another adsense account.

Look up the google adsense scam. This happens to hundreds of thousands of people. They just keep the advertising money.

Someone needs to make big and popular sites and not sell them out to the corporations that then ruin the site.

There is no conspiracy here. If YouTube deletes an account it is because their channel has gone against one or more of the TOS. Period. The most common infraction being the use of copyright content. I've noticed that channels that consent rate on anything fringe often use content that they are not given permission to use, often believing they are protected under the umbrella of "fair use".

Fair use is not a right, it's a defense in a lawsuit that you'd have to prove in court if the copyright holder chooses to sue.

This is a mistake I see often and the #1 reason I see channels being deleted..

I'm sorry, but I disagree with you and feel as though I should clear this up. When Google disables your Adsense, they return all earnings to the advertisers affected. I know this because I've been reimbursed on a couple of occasions all monies spent advertising on sites where the Adsense holder was banned.

I totally understand your frustration, and I agree that sometimes it's not the account holders fault.

This is correct in the majority of cases but definitely not all.

It's crazy to just save links or channels. Download the video every time. If it's worth the effort to watch, it's worth downloading and keeping. All the videos on how to, or technology, or anything else that really matters to you - keep it on a drive, and back it up. Storage is super cheap.
