Re: Aussie Govt gives green light for online spying
Check this out ..... Roxon's proposed laws are far more stringent than the European Union's Data Retention directive which requires ISP's to keep 6 months of data.

Roxon wants 2 years retention as well as allowing the police to commandeer the computer of an UNINVOLVED 3RD PARTY

From this source ....

[link to www.circleid.com]

If they became law, Ms Roxon's latest proposals would give Australia's intelligence agencies and law enforcement some of the greatest spy powers in the developed world. As well as storing web and telecommunications data (including data stored in the cloud and social networks) for two years, the proposed changes would also give authorities the right to commandeer the computer of an uninvolved third party if necessary to access a suspect's computer. If passed, these changes would be even more extreme than the European Union's controversial Data Retention Directive, which requires all data to be stored for six months. It follows attempts earlier this year by the UK and Canada to tighten up their online spy laws.

Nanny state nanny state, these leeches will suck every last drop of our nations decent peoples blood and try to hide under some pretentious lousy excuse.

Wasnt it the nasty kiddie porn threat that was non existant on the internet, that they tried to SCARE everyone with, the last time they tried to censor the internet and were uncerimonously told to take a walk.

That spector hid in very private email groups etc and probably does still today, oh and by the way...

If you want to do your browsing without leaving any footprint then its just so simple, just use this..

[link to www.ixquick.com (secure)]

its s really simple search engine that securely submits your enquiry to google and then it returns the result that google gives to it,back to you.

It does it through their "secure" POP so that the enquiry cant be traced back to you.

And in the mean time Im pretty sure that there any number of informed IT people who will have a ball at providing massive and continuous streams of rubbish that will very quickly make any sort of logging of such a mess, to navigate through, that it will amount to one of the biggest laughs that any government could possibly dream up.

Have a think about all the bogus information any number of computers that have been ceized by some simple trojan and then could be used to generate constant senseless inquiries to search engines to jam logging data silos, it would take centuries to sort through all that useless info and even if they did get a positive "hit" how the hell could they prove that the computer that submitted the enquiry did so at its owners request and not some trojan virus.

It happens all the time, for crying out loud every ISP will tell you that back in the day when dialers were the virus of choice to make money off, not one ISP, or for that matter even ASIO would even attempt to try to track down the offender as it was just too hard, so hunderds of internet users had massive internet usage bills or phone bills for things they had no idea was happening to them at the time.

About ten years ago I knew a fellow who received a phone bill for several thousand dollars, he nearly had a heart attack and it caused immense grief in his family.

Eventually Telstra struck the bill off, and they did actually track the offender to be an IT person working for the US military in Guam who was skimming all this money into an account that he had set up.

Guess he did time over it, but that was a long time ago and the internet has become far more sophisticated now than then.

When was the last time you heard of any scammer being caught, they just dont, its too hard to follow their footprints if they know how to hide them and apparently if your interested its not all that hard to do either.

The other point is, if they do instigate this action, again how will they police it, no one will use ther own computer for that sort of work if they need to, theyll simply go to a library or internet cafe, so still a totally pointless exercise, pretty much like taking all the decent and responsible gun owners weapons from them, but has that stopped any shootings?

Not if you listen to the news on most nights!

Fear factor, simply converts to removal of individual liberties and gains nothing but an easier road to ceaze even more liberties the next time any authority wants to.

I say stuff em, give me real proof and a genuine need before you start to pee on my back and then try to tell me its raining.

Apolagies for the cryptic language, I hope that I havent offended any of the thousands of decent people that do visit this invaluable web site and perhaps one that will be threatened with this reverse type of censorship.

The web is supposed to be place for free exchange of thoughts and speech and it needs to be vigerously defended as such.

The simple thing here is that these idiots have absolutely NO idea of what they are talking about and all that they are doing is demonstrating, very publicly, just how stupid they really are.

This is a no brainer, and no I dont know that much myself, but Ive seen enough by the likes of anon etc to know that this is a total egg in their face farce right from the start, so good luck to them...god, we have to pay for these retarded neuron lacking wastes of space?

I have a better idea, why dont WE the people demand total scrutiny of their every move and conversation while they are our elected representatives and on OUR payroll, bet we'll catch a heap of criminal goings on then.

Our Prime Minister would have to be right in the first row for her deeds when she was working for that legal firm and who were very appreciative of her offering her resignation, for, oh what was that massive missdemenor she was apparently involved in again?

Time for our politician to focus on making this country a better place to live and to stop feathering your already lousy nest that are full of deception, lies and most things immoral before you even think about pointing the finger at all the decent people who actually rely on you to do your job.

Put up or shut up, I say.

Re: Aussie Govt gives green light for online spying
Our corrupt socialist left govt has given the green light for legislation to proceed requiring ISP's to keep customers online data for 2 years - just in case the cops need it to prosecute your ass.

Guess who's paying for it? .........

Nicola Roxon backflip gives green light for online spying

ATTORNEY-General Nicola Roxon has reversed her position on online spy laws today, backing plans for ISPs to store user data for up to two years.

In a speech at the Security Government conference in Canberra, Ms Roxon said that law enforcement authorities needed to be able to collect user data in order to be better able to target criminals.

"Many investigations require law enforcement to build a picture of criminal activity over a period of time," Ms Roxon said.

"Without data retention, this capability will be lost.

"The intention behind the proposed reform is to allow law enforcement agencies to continue investigating crime in light of new technologies.

"The loss of this capability would be a major blow to our law enforcement agencies and to Australia's national security."

The Attorney -General's comments stand in stark contrast to reported comments earlier in the year where she doubted the effectiveness of the proposed measures.

Yep and just how far away do you think it will be for that to be considered a criminal act, if we let this lunacy continue.

These days every time you go through a domestic airport check in you get swabbed for explosive residues.

BIG question, how many people have they EVER detected from those swabs..I'll bet nobody, yet we capitulate because if we dont we will be considered as suspicous, oh and also, just who is footing the bill for this persistant reminder that our lives are in real and great danger when we step on to a domestic flight.

Get over it, this is nothing less than a perpetual propaganda program to keep us all afraid of the boogy man.

This comment for Ricksters original post ...

Sounds a lot like...

"there will NEVER be a carbon tax while Im the Prime Minister".

Hate to sound sexist but are these two women drinking buddies that cant remember what they say from day to day.

Or is it that their concept of morality and ethics are totally out of phase with the rest of the country.

Perhaps Mz Gillard will add a new subject into her newest dream of an improved education system.

It could be titled...

The allowable differences between what we say and how you must interpret it as opposed to how the rest of the world works and interprets morals, ethics, integrity and other insignificant social values that we exempt ourselves from.

Really!

Geez mate, not meaning to be dissrespectful or anything, but you might like to also know that this country is THE most bugged country in the world, and illegally so.

Did you know that at any time your harmless phone sitting innocuously on the wall, in the hung up position can have its microphone switched on whenever anyone with access to the equipment wants to open that mic.

30 Years ago I worked for Telecom as it was known then, all the technical staff had their favorite phone lines that they would regularly listen to MRS Jones gossiping on every day, we'd even put it on to the exchanges internal loud speaker system for everyone elses entertainment.

There were days where no work would ever get done, the latest news was just so hot, we would all down tools just to listen to it.

This is NOT new news, sorry to burst your bubble!

And all your new toys, well they even know where you are at any time of the day provided you have that phone on you, if you want that to stop, you have to actually take the battery out of your phone, switching it off isnt enough, like that news, eh?

Oh and as a final sweetner, there is an underground facility at Langley in the US that is run by the CIA.

It apparently covers an area of over 5 acres and is a part of what they deny as being part of operation ECHELON, which records every text, fax, phone call, email and all other forms of electronic communication from the entire world, say the wrong key word and that will get that info tagged for inspection, in both directions, ie the caller AND the person being called will automatically be monitored.

This post will actually get me marked, but I dont give a damn, ive got nothing to hide and nothing to be afraid of and if they want to waste their time on this harmelss old fart then Im flattered, but thats about all that theres going to be in it!

Besides Ive probably been vetted a dozen or more times before anyway, just for posting on this site alone apart from numerous other influences.

Wake up pal, 9/11 was a false flag operation entirely orchestrated by your own government, dont you watch or listen to any information other that the propaganda you are fed from all the main stream media?

And controlled by a very small hand full of people who have to protect their broadcast lisences!

Why do you think you have lost so many of you freedoms and rights, there never was any terrorist attack and now the whole western world is very actively involved in religous hate programs...

its called divide and destroy.

Im certain the muslims would be far more moderate if they were actually given a chance.

Do you expect your pet dog to constantly come running to you and look for you approval if you are constantly kicking it in the guts.

Perhaps we all should just stop and have a real good look at what we are doing and who is pulling the strings.

Id rather shake any blokes hand and share a beer and good conversation with him than just assume that hes a so and so and just go about hating and offending for no personal reason...think about it, whose the puppets here??
