ReVbo™ User ID: 23187491 United States 09/04/2012 05:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been using coconut oil for years to make popcorn and pancakes, but only because it tastes better. Never really thought it had significant health benefits. I did the mouth rinse thing today for the first time, so we shall see how well it works, but I also have had a problem with heartburn for a long time, and thought, since it supposedly has digestive benefits, I would swallow it. It's only been about an hour, but the heartburn I was experiencing this afternoon is gone. We'll see how long that lasts. It'd be really nice to get off the Zantac. Thanks, OP. Anonymous Coward User ID: 12870145 United States 09/04/2012 06:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Candida infection in the mouth is called THRUSH, right? Red tongue and white spots. Seen that only once in my life with a 2 year old who got it from breastfeading (his mom had yeast) as well as repeat antibiotics for his little ears. Isn't that a probiotic task? Sometimes it's better to not go for eradicating something on our skin mouth unless there is a real problem (isn't candida yeast?) Certainly coconut oil can't hurt if there's no allergy. But baby coconut milk does indeed have probiotic properties. |

Mainstream science has now fully recognized the ‘miracle’ powers of coconut oil to not only combat tooth decay and drastically improve overall mouth health, but also to specifically crush a yeast known as candida albicans that can lead to deadly infections. This ‘news’ likely comes as nothing more than further confirmation for many, as natural health practicioners have been recommending coconut oil for years. The research comes from the Athlone Institute of Technology, where Ireland-based scientists examined the effects of natural and digested coconut oil on common strains of bacteria within the mouth. What they found was that not only did the coconut oil effectively inhibit a majority of the bacteria strains single-handedly, but it was also particularly harmful to candida albicans. This is important when considering the fact that an excessive amount of the yeast known as candida albicans can be brought upon by a poor diet consisting of processed foods and sugar. Candida infection, also known as candida overgrowth or the ‘candy disease’, can be associated with symptoms like chronic tiredness, recurring yeast infections, and digestive issues. It can also lead to a mouth infection known as thrush — a condition typically ‘treated’ using anti-fungal medications preceeded by an x-ray of your esophagus. Now, researchers are highlighting how coconut oil intake can be an alternative solution with far less side effects and concerns. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21666560 that seems a bit odd. anyone with experience? I put a spoon full in my mouth before I shower, and swish it around while I'm in there. They say 20 minutes is best, but less than that does wonders so I rarely do it that long. Then spit it out and brush lightly with a natural toothpaste. |

It's expensive, but is supposedly the very best. Google it and read why it's the best. I use it for everything. Oil pull with it. Cook with it. Use if for sex lube. Skin softener. Eat it. Put it in smoothies. and I also drink Coconut milk instead of cow's milk. It has more calcium and is better for you....and tastes great. |

killuminati2k12 User ID: 18863483 Ireland 09/05/2012 07:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been using coconut oil for over a year now and can say that the stuff is amazing. An amazing medicinal food. When buying coconut oil, look for "extra virgin cold pressed" its white when solid has a texture like lard but melts at body temp, do NOT buy the commercial HYDROGENATED type, it is a yellow liquid looks similar to vegetable oil and is actually BAD for you. Coconut oil kills candida albicans, it does kill fungus, kills bacteria, also can kill parasites, shown to lower bad cholesterol and raise good cholesterol, boosts immune system, whitens teeth, can be used for cooking oil, butter, sun lotion, moisturiser, toothpaste, hair care, apply it to your feet at night if you have athletes (fungus) foot. Antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, I could go on and on about this miracle food it truly has a thousand uses, research for yourselves and find out.
