What's with all the earthquakes north of Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands?
there has been a swarm of quakes north of the British Virgin Islands lately including several 5 plus magnitude quakes. the most recent just a few moments ago.

i had no idea that in the 1940s there was such large earthquakes in this region with deadly tsunamis. 1943 there was a 7.8. 1946 there were several 7 pointers.
just something to keep an eye on since activity has increased lately.

except these are north of Puerto Rico along that trench. totally different from Haiti earthquake. However the USGS info i posted above is amazing. I simply had no idea this area has such large quakes in the 1940s with deadly tsunamis

Could this have some relation to bombings at Vieques?

I realize that this supposedly stopped a long time ago, but I always wondered if some of these operations were geared to mining a secret channel into the Caribbean, perhaps for an underwater sea base.
