What if you are buying it for someone else, or you are going shooting practice and borrowing a friends gun. Unless they plan to search the property of people they suspect? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18678956 thank you kind sir/mam? you just proved my point. if you are not buying for your legally owned gun, you are a criminal. why are you buying ammo for your friends gun. is it cause he has a record he hasnt told you about? you are a criminal, unless you buy ammo for the guns you LEGALLY own. no questions. |

Quoting: cdwarior 1564478 Period. it was a loose variation of any number of circumstances, weapons mentioned. but the point remains. you buy ammo, for a gun you dont own, will become illegal. there were too many random shootings this year for some obscure law to NOT be enacted, in the interest of public safety. *****you do realize 'in the matter of public safety' is a ploy to disarm you before the government goes rogue, correct???***** |

She went to her regular gun shop to buy reloading powder and was told that they not only had to sight her licence but that they had to take a copy of it to record against the transaction! So WTH is going on here? When did this come in? That which is - has already been, And what is to be - has already been. Quote: King Solomon. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 17478519 United States 09/05/2012 07:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I really doubt that will happen. The anti-gun lobby in Congress can't even find support for so much as a >10 round magazine ban right now, which is relatively minor compared to this. It would require a national firearms registry, and virtually all of the Republicans in Congress would oppose it and so would several Democrats. It would also effectively eliminate private sales of firearms between individuals. As the political climate stands right now, I doubt any new gun control legislation would pass. The GOP will very likely retain the House and has a better than 50-50 shot at the Senate as well. In all but the absolute disaster scenario, they should retain the Senate filibuster at worst, and I'm almost certain that they'd use it. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 17478519 United States 09/05/2012 07:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Never happen. States like West Virginia have NO gun registration. There would be no data base to cross check with. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2502917 Yep, and therein lies the problem. As I said, it would require the institution of a national firearms database, something which is vehemently opposed by gun rights supporters, both in Congress and the general public. In fact, a national firearms database would probably be the single most difficult piece of legislation that the anti-gunners could pass short of an outright ban. |

This weak ass attempt to make the overly dramatic happy will do nothing to prevent violence from guns. But it will let some of the people who followed the movie theater shootings a chance to feel like they are saving the world. Too bad after years of trying this shit, they never learned that all you do when you throw laws at a problem is create more paperwork and jail innocent people who thought they were free. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 22849855 United States 09/05/2012 08:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | no, i have no link, this is simply my opinion, but my opinion on this matter i believe is valid. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23181579 after obama is re-elected, sometime tween november and january, a bill will be introduced to cross check ammunition bought and weapons owned. lets say, you bought a gun on the black market. but you need ammo. its too cheap on the regular market, so why not go to a legal store. so you only legally own a 22 caliber, but yet you are buying buckshot. this now makes you guilty of buying ammunition for a firearm you do not LEGALLY own. due to your records showing you do not own a deer rifle, you must have bought said rifle on the black market. which means you are a criminal. thus ending in your arrest for partaking in crimes against america? please discuss! STUPID bullshit... I buy ammo for my kids (all of whom are grown) ALL the time... I'll go over there at the range with them and we'll shoot 1000 rounds in a weekend and I treat. Fuck your stupid ass idea. |

Now just why in the HELL do I have to press "one" for English? Politicians should always have their head in a noose,it keeps them upright and on their toes. There may come a time when the only thing left to do is say "Fuck it!", draw your weapon, and see what happens. |

Whiskey Brother User ID: 11702187 United States 10/23/2012 07:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That would be WAY to much work for ATF-Troop to handle, and thus would never happen. Besides, ammo is every bit as plentiful on the black market as drugs and guns are. When Government outlaws something, immediatly people start wheeling and dealing in whatever just went illegal. Its why there are TOO MANY FUCKEN COPS already. Every law that gets passed outlawing this, and banning that, needs even more cops to enforce it. For instance California has a measure on the ballot this year that would force porno stars to use condoms. If that passes, then the Government needs to hire people to watch people fuck all day, to make sure they are wearing a condom. Its why there are Federal Agencies and State Offices eating the substenence right out of the people. In their eagerness to "save" us from ourselves they are straight fucken things up for all of us... |
