I think you're on the right track, the (physical) universe is made up of (Leibniz's) monads, most of them are unconcious, but all have the mathematical blueprint, therefore the potential, to be like..... God I suppose. Like a cell has the blueprint for the whole organism Unconscious as in without awareness. But, I understand you, and think on similar things. Um.. no, unconscious as in without consciousness. Maybe I mis-understand what you mean by awareness. We all start of in this way, and like a pawn on a chess board, we have the opportunity, through effort & achievement, to become as powerful as the queen
