What is Spiritism? And who was Allan Kardec?

Amazing how we find almost nothing about Spiritism in English language...

Unbeliveable...

I read Kardec 'Spirits' Book'. I use to believe in his works.

But, started coming across to many NDE accounts of people (including Christians, atheists, and non-Christian religions) verifying the existence of an actual hell as described in the Bible.


Also studied demonology in depth. The nature of these demons, aren't explained in Kardec's work.

So there are major pieces of the puzzle, that Kardec's theology doesn't encompass, and can't explain.

All my father's side of the family is into Spiritism.

It is a false doctrine from the pits of Hell. It is a doctrine of development by good works, much like Hinduism. They believe in reincarnation and contact with spirits from dead people.

Basically, the medium gets demon possessed and distributes "advice".

They say Jesus was just a good spirit and they love to quote the Bible. They don't believe in salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus in the cross.

It is sad. Most followers are nice people and some really do good works, such as charity, etc.

Much of Kardec's work was received from spirits channeled by Mediums. The demons can disguise themselves as these entities, and then easily deceive you.

When will you orthodox Christians stop to call EVERY SINGLE ENTITY from the astral plane as "demon"?

Following your logic, you should call all the angels and archangels as "demons" too.

The angels and archangels are God? No.

The angels and archangels are Jesus? No.

The angels and archangels are Mary, the Mother of Jesus? No.

So, using your logic, they must be DEMONS!


Of course there are demons who disguise themselves as other things. But it's not logical to thing that EVERYTHING that lies in the astral plane is a "demon".


And if you believe angels and archangels are NOT demons, then I ask: do you really think that angels are the creatures depicted in the traditional paintings, with those white wings and stuff?

I'm not a follower of Kardecist Spiritism, but I will bump this thread because this "religion" is extremely popular in Brazil, and it's outrageous that it's almost unknown in other countries, including in France, the country where it was originated.

It is frustrating to live along hundreds of Kardecists here in Brazil, and when we ask the opinion of people from other countries about it, they answer: "What? Allan who?"

Spiritist here......it's simple communion with the spirit world while living a
Life devoted to faith hope and charity. It is not demonic as one of the points is strengthening your spiritual makeup is to dispell and keep away negative influence.

Btw, there are thousands of us anywhere where there are Puerto Ricans and Cubans in the USA.

I just sold a few of the books I had by Kardec. He cannot ever compete or replace my BIBLE!!!

I enjoy the book of spiritism.It's reveled a lot of answers.But i don't understand someting.In the bible it said that Ilie is Jhoan,even Jesus said to the apostols (matew 17:12-13).In Jhoan 1:21 ,Jhoan answer that its not Ilie.It's aperar an contradiction?

Sorry for reviving this thread, but I noticed that nobody mentioned Kardec's book "Heaven and Hell" and it pretty much explains all that.

If you studied demonoly and read Kardec's work you would understand that many low spirits respond to names of demons.
Actually, the word for demon comes from the greek word daemon, which means spirit.

As far as I can say, you try to summon a spirit, or demon, just for fun or just for the sake of it, you'll pretty much get low spirits claiming to be whatever you want them to be and they will have lots of fun at your expense...
