Reports on all the news say some tar balls are showing up. Can you report?

Tar balls, power outages linger Isaac's aftermath

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The lingering effects of Hurricane Isaac in Louisiana on Wednesday saw thousands still without electricity, thousands more seeking aid for damage or losses and hundreds, so far, seeking temporary housing.

Isaac also churned up an unpleasant reminder of another disaster: deposits of tar on the shoreline - weathered oil from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion. BP said Wednesday that the deposits at Port Fourchon are from the spill. The company said it was working with state and federal authorities on a cleanup.

No, no, no... "the region is safe for tourists to enjoy" - everybody said so.





And I remember a piece in Shape Magazine not long after the spill, before any studies had been done, that said eating Gulf seafood was ok, even healthy. Guess that's corporatism/fascism for you?
