A Tiny Glimmer of Hope in a Sea of WTF?
HUGE NEWS that has nationwide implications!

Federal judge OKs section of Arizona immigration law allowing police to question status of suspected illegals

[link to www.foxnews.com]

A federal judge ruled Wednesday that Arizona authorities can enforce the most contentious section of the state's immigration law, which critics have dubbed the "show me your papers" provision.

The ruling by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton clears the way for police to carry out the 2010 law's requirement that officers, while enforcing other laws, question the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally.

Nope.

And not the light at the end of the tunnel either.

More like the light of an oncoming train.

What you and most likely many others do not understand that while this is being sold as a way to deal with illegal immigration, it is only making it legal to profile people.

Eventually this 'allowance' will be used as precedence in other causes allowing profiling in other issues.

How Law works means that any other law can be used to show precedence, leading to legal adjustments to the law without it going through proper channels.

Today they will target people of brown skin. Tomorrow they may be targeting people with blue eyes, or blonde hair, or people who dare to wear a t-shirt without long sleeves.

Precedence setting is a slippery slope - very slippery.

Right.....taking steps to protect our sovereignty is a slippery slope?

So lets say Canadians wear long sleeve shirts because it's cold up ders. Do you really think they will profile for people who has long sleeves?
