Hungary is George Soros' homeland
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23276277

Mr Soros only speaks Hungarain, he is not Hungarian
 Quoting: Orsolja

Soros was born in Budapest, Hungary to a nonobservant Jewish family. His mother Elizabeth (also known as Erzsebet) came from a family that owned a thriving silk shop. His father Tivadar (also known as Teodoro) was a lawyer[10] and had been a prisoner of war during and after World War I until he escaped from Russia and rejoined his family in Budapest.

what is the "bank tax"
 Quoting: Royslist

it's a tax that all banks are required to pay after each transaction.... the funny thing though is that they actually charge that from the customers LOL

EDIT:
I stand corrected... this is called a "transaction tax" dance

Basically, it's a tax added to EVERY single financial transaction :) neat, isn't it?

The "bank tax" has been correctly defined by a posted above me

That was carried under them for a reason... and it doesn't have anything to do with being civilized or not. It has to do with being lighter and being able to move better while galloping and having preserved food for long journeys. That's part of their success as "warriors".

Well, sure enough Burebista is none of my ancestors :)

But, if you mentioned it, I think it's a mix, like anyone else in this world, except maybe the few remaining natives, the ones that have survived the "white people".

A REAL Hungarian, who has a little bit of national pride so to speak, associates him-/herself with the Scythians, Celts and Huns.

Some genetic studies have confirmed though that about 60% of Hungarians have a gene that is common in the Urals, can't remember the exact study.... might be this one: "Genetic evidence has linked early Magyars eastward as well to the Ujghurs, living in East-Eurasia around the town of Ürümqi (today in China)"

I tend to believe that Hungarians are one of the few PRESERVERS of the ancient traditions and civilizations in Europe.

you don't have an ancient civiulization, when you came here in 895 you were some sort of savages.

the daco romanian things is not completely bs. we have very little genetic connection with the romans, but we got their language and part of their culture. in fact, in general, the dacians and the romans didn't get along, around 250 the free dacians and the goths threw the romans out for a few years. the thing is that the protoromanians were rural people or sheaperds. they only had some small "states" which is normal when you think how many migrators came through here: goths, avars, huns, pechengs, you, uzii ( seldjuk turks), cumans.

Re: Hungary rejects IMF
anyway some of us don't take pride in the roman ancestors, they were just some savage people who came here only for gold and silver, f'ck them.
the slavs, the biggest wave of migrators ruled all romanized population inf the balcanic peninsula. on northern danube they were only smaller tribes of slavs. but sure is we have slav blood in us, even in the language we have about 20% of the words from slav origins. don you know aromanians or meglenoromanians from south of danube?
again you say that stupid thing that there were no romanians in transilvania< just 2 things I wanna say to you:
-moldova was "established" in the XIII or XIV century by a romanian nobils from maramures sent or driven out by the hungarian king. there names were bogdan( slav origins?) dragos, all romanian names.
-Tara romaneasca was establisehd by Negru Voda-toctomer- and later on by his son Basarab I. they came down from Brasov speaking romanian(and some cuman?), they were some cuman-romanians.
So how come romanians have come out of transilvania and established the two other romanian countries if there were no romanians there?

"-we're with the Germans...
- oh wait, the Germans are losing, we're with the Russians now!" - kinda gives you the right impression...

So, I suggest you better stay in "Tara Romaneasca" and "Moldova"

Note: I did take account of your sarcasm, I didn't care about it though

You're free to try but a serious look at the balance of power would tell you it would be a disaster.

As for your impression.... things are more complicated than that.
