The author blames organic consumers for the fact that the world's poor can't afford nutrition. I agree that it is pure evil how we manage food production and distribution. But I'm not going to poison my family when I have the means to try to get them better food. F that guy. He is deluded. Attack the assholes who attempt to feed us pure poison and have created a system that makes it possible for most people to eat healthier. I'm steamed, but ty for the link. |

I’d rather be serious about the world’s needs. California is about to vote on whether to make it mandatory to label GMO foods... you know that Monsanto crap that kills test mice and causes birth deformities, etc. VOTE YES on prop 37 to make them label the bad GMOs that are taking over the market. The only way we can tell right now is to buy organic, so they are attacking the organic industry. The greatest gift you can give anyone is the example of your own life working. -Orin |

If you want better tasting food, purchase or grow your own organic heirloom or hybrid crops. Pick varieties with known high taste and not necessarily the best yield or turnaround. Anonymous Coward User ID: 1274052 United States 09/06/2012 03:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is infuriating. If all the knuckledraggers want to eat gmo food full of pesticides I say that is fine for them but the fact is that poison food is spreading into healthy food. We have to stop it! Monsanto knows this and then fines farmers that do not use Monsanto seed. Organic farmers do not want contaminated crops. We actually need to not live and let live, we need to fight back because our food source is attacked. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1593445 United States 09/06/2012 04:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Unfortunately, China is now mass-producing "organic" food, so the larger vendors like Kroger and Whole Foods are probably including a lot of that in their offerings. And, there are many standards as to what constitutes organic food. Monsanto is trying to get GMO food labeled organic as long as it is grown without artificial fertilizers or pesticides. So, in that sense, if you don't know where it comes from, you probably are buying into a fable. But I'll keep trying anyway! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21672181 United States 09/06/2012 04:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Stanford study only measured levels of vitamins and minerals for which a Government RDA has been established. It's well known that synthetic fertilizer bonds to trace minerals like boron, germanium, and vanadium - minerals that conventional medicine claims have no value - making them impossible to take up by plants. It's also well known that organic foods have much higher level of phytonutrients -- organic tomatoes have significantly more lycopene, for example. So the Stanford study was just bullshit. Might as well have been put out by Pfizer or Monsanto. |
