meteor strikes Earth’s atmosphere

So, What is this yellow dot floating around? Anyone know? .. also yeah it's going in and out but nothing like last night. This is very exciting, altough I do understand this could be explained by the whole toposhpericwhateverever? but still the orange ball here?

For real, just took a look at the CRWS jet stream map and there really no flow, it's broken up pretty bad, WTF is happening.

Yeah read the tropo info it says 100-1000 miles is possible but the signal last night was picked up by two stations in the UK.

Yep, it's going all weird again! What's this about the jet stream?

Hey Lemon, that top part is my post and I feel VIOLATED!

Just kidding, it's all good I gave up watching this action about 5:30am CST (Texas time) had to get some sleep. Although the "signal" mostly went away now I see it coming back and I gather the audio is coming back as well. I am a amateur radio operator and hold a General class license so I understand the explanation emailed to the guy here that asked for info from the monitoring station. I am not sure it explains the audio feed but it may if they are both listening to a reflection of the same source.

The spaceweather site gives this explanation of what they do:

"Live Radar Audio Feed--how do we do it? It's simple. The Air Force Space Surveillance Radar transmits a 216.98 MHz signal into the heavens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Meteors, satellites and spacecraft passing overhead reflect those signals back down to Earth. The radar's primary antenna is located near Lake Kickapoo, Texas. A few hundred miles away in Roswell, New Mexico, radio engineer and long-time spaceweather.com associate Stan Nelson picks up the echos using a yagi antenna on his roof."

NOW I gather the operation of the meteorscan.com site is similar in that there is a source signal somewhere and the now famous "graph" shows the reflected energy from that source. The explanation given by them basically says that the strange readings occur because the atmospheric conditions are SO good that they are not only receiving the reflections but the raw source signal itself. Given that the freq. is in the 1000hz range and an extremely long wavelength, upwards of 30km.... very long, over the horizon propagation is to be expected at times. I would think that it would be such a problem that they would have to filter out the source signal and just listen for harmonic reflections so to speak. That is why I have a hard time with the explanation given by spaceweather.com for the "anomaly" but I guess it could be a very strong harmonic of the base signal that they normally would not filter. And it still records actual meteor strikes when the anomaly is occurring. I don't know the freq. of the source or it's location so it's difficult to say. I am going to see if I can find more details about their system so I can get a better idea about what is going on.

I am quit sure it is not an object in the atmosphere causing this.

This caught my attention. I saw a post on glp about a wormhole that opened up. The lights that were coming from it were falling straight down. Im not sure these are meteors your seeing honestly. But hey, what do i know lol
