Go to the Broadmoor and play a little golf. Shop a bit.

Depends where in Colorado you would like to stay. Telluride is the most beautiful, but most expensive. If you don't know about the sand dunes,I would recommend those, although they are quite isolated. You could stay in Denver, and travel to many destinations within a few hours...

Be careful of Estes Park, I almost got in trouble for jaywalking there. The cop guy yelled at me and my sister and we were almost to the other side of the street already. We came back and then went up the block and jaywalked there. We were sneaky at that point.

The most beautiful scenery is in the San Juan mountains in Southwest CO around Telluride Try and rent a small house in Ouray. And take the "Million Dollar Highway" spellbinding

THIS OP!

Stay in Ouray. Awesome scenery.

I agree completely.
Ouray is "Switzerland of America" very scenic, victorian houses and has the famous Ouray Hot Springs Pool (a family friendly place). Hot springs in the area don't smell like "eggs" the way that Glenwood Springs or Pagosa Springs do. There is also Orvis Hot Springs, close-by in Ridgway which is a clothing optional pool (fewer kids) with indoor pools in case of inclement weather and natural outdoor pools. There is lithium in the water and that is reported to have healthful benefits. Both hot springs are about $12 per day for adults. The lodging is less expensive in Ouray/Ridgway/Montrose area than in places like Aspen or Telluride. but if you do go to Telluride be sure to ride the Gondola up the mountain. There is a Blues and Brews festival coming up in Telluride soon. The fall colors usually peak in the area around Ouray/Ridgway/Telluride the last week in September. There is also a vapor cave at the Weisbaden in Ouray, Box Canyon falls, the Beaumont Hotel and St. Elmo Hotel snd Bon Ton restaurant. If you happen to be in Ouray on a Sunday morning, check out the Bon Ton Sunday brunch especially if you enjoy eggs benedict!

There is a park on the southeast side of Boulder that has a natural prairie dog area. You can hear them bark an alarm in their natural setting. You can watch them pop in & out of their tunnels. It's neat to see them in their natural habitat. Wear boots as the rattle snakes are thick in the tall grasses around the trails. I had one hit the back of my shoe as I walked down a path towards the little creek that runs thru the park.

Goto the Denver airport & see the murals.

Be sure to drive up into the mountains & see them from your own personal vehicle. That is something I wish I would have done when we were there about 8 years ago.

I love Colorado.

If you are on a budget I suggest:
Garden of the Gods. (awesome to see)
Ouray ( the drive there and the town are great)
Salida ( centrally located and not expensive)

Colorado is great for just going to a small town and hanging out for a few days and ask the locals about anything interesting in the area.
