Obama DNC speech...let the comments begin! | |
SHR Forum Administrator 09/07/2012 02:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Maybe I saw something tonight...in the face of that Vietnam Vet....I know a bunch of people who are probably just like him...old guard Democrats, retired drivers/teamsters, Vietnam era guys...they might just be feeling that the glittering "Hope and Change" wasn't what they thought it was it was supposed to be, at all...and they aren't going to buy it again...no matter who is selling it.... Quoting: SHR ANOTHER Thank you! SHR why couldn't you write like this when you were using the foulest of language and hate against Ron Paul? Just curious. Because this is a pretty good piece. Where is the hate you heaped on Paul? I did...you just didn't like it so you didn't see it in the same light... I don't hate Ron Paul...I just think he was a piss poor fake presidential candidate, piss poor congressman and used cult type programming techniques on his sheepletard supporters. He did however cure some peoples apathy to the political and electorial process, which I have always given him accolades for and have always maintained was a good thing, it was just HOW he did it that I always took issue with and always will...he got peoples hopes up in him as a presidential candidate when that never really was the cause...that was wrong IMO and if it weren't for me trying to smack a few Paultards out of the Ronulan glaze....then who else would have ey?...lol!... See?...I can turn it on when I feel like it...but Ron Paul is done and over, so it's time to move on... ____________________________________________________ E-mail anytime [email protected] Inquiring about a ban?, include the IP address found here. Quoting: SHR Wow. Good post. I'm floored. You hit so many nails right on the head. I too think I saw something this week. The orgiastic quality of the convention audience and the overwhelming negativity of the speeches, including Obama's. Something mean-spirited and selfish and almost delusional. The howling latinas, the lying Debbie Wasserman-Shultz, the duplicitous John Kerry claiming that Mitt will ship jobs overseas when everyone knows it was Bill Clinton who pushed through NAFTA. I think a lot of moderates out there in middle america -- like your Vietnam vet -- were repelled. Starting on Tuesday with Michelle Obama's patently insincere breathlessness, I've been developing a feeling that the "bounce" for this one is going to be small to non-existent. Thank you very much. Like I said...I know a lot of these people, they are good men and women...I also know they aren't happy with Obama and won't be outwardly heart broken when he loses...they'll just say something like, "Well your guy has the ball now, show us what you got." As an old school democrat, myself, I'm happy to hear that many of them are good people and reasonable. Do you think Obama, himself, will be gracious in defeat? His Chicago connection plus some of the tactics he used to win the primary in 2008 have made me open to considering some of the wilder claims about him... No I don't think he will be reasonable at all...of course he will present a public front that he is above it all, gracious in his loss, the people have spoken...he also will not blame the agenda...he will blame himself for not articulating it well enough... But in his lame duck session he will do as much destruction as is humanly possible...at that point...I don't know just how far he and his crew will go...but it will be a very dangerous and destructive albeit short time...you can bank on that... There are reasons I think this...but it's subject matter for a much longer thread...and maybe a little fun exercise to see if I am the right track regarding him.... ____________________________________________________ E-mail anytime [email protected] Inquiring about a ban?, include the IP address found here. I pray that is not the case or it will be the beginning of the next American Revolution. Quoting: SHR See?...I can turn it on when I feel like it...but Ron Paul is done and over, so it's time to move on... As a huge Paul guy myself, I'd have to agree with you--he was a horrible politician. But it was never intended. He's been this way his whole life. He was asked by some moron "journalist" on E! or someplace (I can't remember) who Tom Cruise is ... and he didn't know! Now I'm all for getting rid of all that Illu-mi-na-tie crap from your life, being your own man, not blindly following the shitty mass culture ... but for fucks sake ... how the fuck do you not know who Tom fucking Cruise is. The reason why I back that man to the hilt is because he remains a genuine and sincere individual. Those things ALONE don't work in politics, but they can be useful to some degree. Hopefully, in his failed wake, he's left behind something ... have you noticed how the fucknut Dems DON'T EVEN SAY HIS NAME (?) and how insane the bullying tactics were against him in the primaries from his fellow Republicans (especially 4 years ago). Both parties are scared of/hate this guy. I don't what he's done ... but he's accomplished something. The LANGUAGE of the national debate has changed. who the fuck ever used the words 'federal' and 'reserve' except here on GLP lol. Hopefully, there is a movement in the ether that he founded and I hope for the sake of this country it permeates through both the Dems and GOP from now on. It's official now ... he's gone and RP himself didn't turn out to be our "savior," but this might be a very good first step to something good. |

They love to watch you squabble in the drama while they forge ahead, unchecked on the things that really mess up our lives (TSA, Patriot Act, NDAA, etc, etc). Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20500084 The world laughs at you, primitive scum. The gubermint doesn't own me, I own myself. But you think that the government owns you. Don't you? So I take it that our difference of opinion makes me primitive scum? Actually, you are reactionary, fascist, primitive scum. Nothing you say will change the outcome. Enjoy your loss. This lost soul sounds like my brother. And just as I told him in 08', " You people don't see anything but a team. cheering on the t-ball team on to Jr high, high school, through college and the pros. You do don't care at what personal price is paid your team won. How pathetic." All the way back from Shinar and Egypt up to Germany and Russia, we see that the collective NEVER works. Communism/Socialism are isms and isms are schisms. The ac keeps repeating the only retort they have and that is primitive. But from primitive times all these leaders have claimed to have something new. We find it is all the same, repeated failures. Do not follow the same empty mindset. Billions of dead things, buried in rock layers, laid down by water, all over the earth. |

Unless you are one of his social program zombies or are brain dead, how can you even stand to look at him much less believe what he says? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7900947 Unfortunately, Americans no longer require political assholes to not lie, they expect it and accept it as part of the deal. Yes, they have been completely and utterly brainwashed. Once there were enough asshole voters, asshole politicians were able to run wild throughout the system, in both "parties". Yeah, a party! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1057865 Canada 09/07/2012 01:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Charles Krauthammer on President Obama's convention speech: "I was stunned. This is a man who gave one of the great speeches of our time in 2004. And he gave one of the emptiest speeches I have ever heard on a national stage. Yes it had cadence, and yes, there were deceptions in it, but that is not what is so striking about it. There was nothing in it. This is a man who believes that government can and should do a lot. There's nothing here that tells us how he's going to go from today to tomorrow." Quoting: truthwillsetyoufreeagain I watched both Romney's and Obama's speeches. Both were empty rhetoric. Get over it. Both candidate will do anything to get elected. |
