Just recently, his credibility has suffered greatly. Until Reed can substantiate his claims, he is considered a charlatan and flim flam man. Usually, when you hear a story that is too good to be true, it is. I have been asked many times why my website contains mostly older sightings, and abductions. This is exactly why. Shawn Atlanti, Founder and former Director of San Diego UFO Society, no longer supports or considers the "Alien in the Forest Encounter" or what is known as the Dr. Jonathan Reed story to be real. This story occurred in mid-October 1996 in the Cascade Mtns in Washington state. I became aware of this story on October 21st, 1996, a few weeks later on November 11th, Jonathan Reed and Robert Raith went on the Art Bell Show and told their story, they were both on two later shows in 1998, and I was on another show with them in December of 1999.

There were more allegations against Jonathan Reed that occurred on the Jeff Rense radio program on May 2nd, 2002, in which Royce Myers, Kathleen Anderson, Bill Werner and Denise Charvet appear.

Bill Werner and Denise Charvet knew Jonathan Reed very well before October 1996, Both stated that his real name is Jonathan Bradley Rutter and told about information about his personal history that is contrary to what Jonathan has been stated on radio shows, in public lectures, Websites, etc,

This information is available at the Website www.ufowatchdog.com, and may be heard in the archive section of the Jeff Rense radio program at www.Rense.com. This latest information, along with other related problems the last 3 and half years, combined with Jonathan Reed/Rutter unwillingness to have his supposed evidence (video, slides, pictures, etc,) tested at qualified laboratories or facilities and those results made public of the analysis in a printed form. Jonathan Reed/Rutter made a statement just about 3 and half years ago on the first Art Bell show that he would be open to do this. So, I FINALLY made the decision drop my support and belief in the Jonathan Reed story, now really known as Jonathan Bradley Rutter. Shawn Atlanti may reconsider the Jonathan Reed story if all of the following conditions are met:

I dont know if it is real or not. But , why would a guy shoot himself in the shoulder just to fabricate a story about meeting an alien? Why would he go through all the work of making such an elaborate puppet alien, if it is a hoax? And could he even have done so alone, it would be up against Hollywood specialist manufacture as far as the design goes? Why would a Doctor go risk his credibility and reputation doing something like that in the first place, knowing it would be a great risk to be caught? Obviously, he would also most likely have thought that most people wouldnt believed him in the first place, and told him to be a hoaxer, and thus it would not be a good idea to have so much footage of an incident that wasnt real.

This is one case I believe. People need to watch his documentaries.

At the time of the incident I was asked to provide security for some of the photographic evidence and video.

I did not know what it was about until years afterward.

Some of the people associated with the case were (mysteriously) found dead, or disappeared.

There are certain elements to the video that makes me unsure about this, dont know if it is real or hoax, but i cant just nod it off as a hoax. Some details that stands out, such as the being blinking and moving etc, and not a too simple dummy either if a hoax, would take some experts to make something like that up, close to hollywood quality. Also the guy was shot in his shoulder, do you think he would do that to himself just to create a hoax alien story? Why would he go out to lose his credibility and reputation? He had to give up both family, friends and business partners to come out with this story.

When men in blac agents ( CIA ? ) ambushed him in his home and stole most of his stuff, including the alien which they brought with them. He managed to keep the footage and the bracelet he found in the woods where the alien was encountered.

Its a teleportation device, the bracelet left by the aliens. What makes you say its fake?

And most importantly, WHY would he fake an unbeliveable story in the first place? Why not fake something that would be, well, a bit more easy to fake? For what purpose would he go through all this just to make a fake story? What goal would the hoax serve? Would he really shoot himself just to fake a story?

you do realize that sometimes debunkers are those that run the conspiracy, right?

How much discernment do you really have when you automatically think that someone claiming to debunk someone is correct?

Reminds me of how the accused is always more guilty that the accuser, merely by the fact that they had the finger pointed at them. I've always felt that was bullshit.
