No aftershocks after the last one and now this.

Good point. Was just getting ready to go to sleep, but wide awake now. Even though it was only 3.5 it had some movement to it.

Yeah it was a pretty good 3.5.

JPL reporting it was a "pre-shock" and to expect more within the next 30 - 60 minutes.

I don't see anything talking about an imminent earthquake.

According to the map, the quake was centered on a piece of open land next to Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills PD and City Hall is just across the road.

For anyone who has the usual smart ass crack about quakes <5.0 not being a big deal, you're half right.

A 3.5 isn't going to cause us damage but it is a reminder that the big one we've been warned about for more than 30 years is coming, and when it does, we're f/cked. That's why we make a big deal about these little ones.

Ya it did, felt a lot stronger than a 3.5. Im right here at the epicenter too between Beverly Hills and Culver City.

Shallow quakes always feel way more intense for obvious reasons (less distance between fault rupture and you).

Was just listening to KNX radio in LA and lots of people are reporting stuff falling off shelves, etc. Which you would not expect to happen for such a small earthquake.
