Quds Sent to Turkey to Attack Western Interests Western spy agencies suspect Syria’s government has several hundred tons of chemical weapons and precursor components scattered among as many as 20 sites throughout the country, heightening anxieties about the ability to secure the arsenals in the event of a complete breakdown of authority in the war-torn nation, U.S. and Middle Eastern officials say. Officials are monitoring the storage sites, but they expressed growing fear that they have not identified every location and that some of the deadly weapons could be stolen or used by Syrian troops against civilians. Quds Sent to Turkey to Attack Western Interests WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. is ramping up its presence at Syria's Turkish border, sending more spies and diplomats to help advise the rebel forces in their mismatched fight against the better armed Syrian regime, and to watch for possible al-Qaida infiltration of rebel ranks. U.S. officials briefed on the plan said the modest surge in U.S. personnel in the past few weeks — estimated at fewer than a dozen people — has helped improve rebels' political organizing skills as well as their military organization. The officials spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss the plans publicly. It's part of a two-pronged effort by the Obama administration to bolster the rebels militarily without actually contributing weapons to the fight, and politically, to help them stave off internal power challenges by the well-organized and often better-funded hardline Islamic militants who have flowed into the country from Iraq and elsewhere in the Persian Gulf region. [link to news.yahoo.com] It makes sense to do that. Dunno if it's really helping on the ground yet, although given the lack of concrete reporting i's kind of hard to tell. |

Quds Sent to Turkey to Attack Western Interests Well SwHTF with the Kurds of Syria soon it seems, as Syria changes stance with them. A Kurdish neighborhood in Aleppo was bombed with at least 16 dead people. First time that something like that happens to Kurds in Syria. [link to translate.google.gr] Plus, Syrian regime arrests 38 Kurds in four days. [link to translate.googleusercontent.com] |

Quds Sent to Turkey to Attack Western Interests Iran is intensifying its support for the regime of Bashar al-Assad by sending 150 senior Revolutionary Guards commanders to Syria to help repel opposition attempts to overthrow the government. Quoting: DoorBert Western intelligence officials say that Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has personally sanctioned the dispatch of the experienced officers to ensure that the Assad regime, Iran's most important regional ally, survives the threat to its survival. In addition, Iran has shipped hundreds of tons of military equipment, including guns, rockets, and shells, to Syria through the regular air corridor that has been established between Damascus and Tehran. The Iranian operation to support Mr Assad is being masterminded by Qassem Suleimani, the head of the Guards' Quds force which is responsible for overseeing Iran's overseas operations. The Revolutionary Guards officers were flown to Damascus in chartered Iranian aircraft which were given permission to fly through Iraqi air space. Iranian military equipment is said to have been shipped to Syria by the same route. [link to www.telegraph.co.uk] oops |

Quds Sent to Turkey to Attack Western Interests I dont buy it anymore. The way I see it from a simpletons view, Iran needs to be demonised if TPTB are ever going to get thier war. The problem for the western government(s) is simple, human beings no longer believe government sanctioned news. |
