Mine was Black and silver same size as yours 3 inches metallic looking and mechanical sounding while walking on a canopy and very awkward mechanical flight. My dogs and I were all captivated. I took a stick and flung it out in the yard, it sounded and felt metallic at the end of the stick. It played dead in the yard.
I marked the location with the stick until someone braver came home to capture it, I checked it minutes later and it had turned facing upward with eyes like it was watching. When my brave one arrived home it was gone! I saw this the week before this thread was started. I wanted to post then but really I'm still a little freaked out. My thought... drone.

You guys remember the Tom Selleck movie from 84 called Runaway. Was about robot spiders like this and guided bullets. Guess its all coming true.
