The remote control cockroach that could be the spy of the future
Researchers have shown off a 'cyborg' cockroach they can control remotely.

The team have been able to accurately steer it to follow complex shapes on the ground.

Now they hope to fit it with video cameras and other sensors, so it can crawl into buildings undetected, and even search earthquakes for survivors.

It's a pretty obvious idea. That doesn't necssarily make it a good thing though...

Re: The remote control cockroach that could be the spy of the future
The next logical step should be to hook all of the remote controlled robots up through a single, really powerful computer that no human has access to so we can ensure it's safety.

Then we should start programming artificial intelligence to control them so they can respond faster than the human controllers can so that they can anticipate events faster than our brains can to make them more efficient.

We could call it skynet or something, then if they get too hard to control we can go back in ti...oh wait, sounding familiar...
