Wow, AC you need to relax.
Firstly, ABC never "banned" lapel pins, it is common for journalists to maintain neutrality, as in not wearing lapel pins promoting any particular cause - including their own patriotism. This has always been the case.
Second, this was clarified WAY before Obama.
