Yangtze River Turns Red and Is a Mystery

"For a river known as the "golden watercourse," red is a strange color to see.

Yet that's the shade turning up in the Yangtze River and officials have no idea why."

Last month sometime the Yangtze also turned red but was only for a matter of a day and at the time it was believed to be chemicals from upstream but nothing was found then. I'm pretty sure the red color is from a algae bloom taking the oxygen out of the water.
Only time will tell.
