Interesting to read your post irandefensenet....they could really care less because we are less than nothing to them.

I would read this as a none to subtle hint that negotiations are almost ended. This is a symbolic gesture to demonstrate that the West is serious about the nuclear issue, and despite the news releases this has nothing to do with Iran's support of Syria. I would suggest that it is unlikely that Canada moved to such a step without very close consultations with NATO and other allies.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has also just arrived in Russia to meet with Vladimir Putin and the message would likely have a bigger audience than just Iran.

I am surprised Harper would meet with Putin on this matter. Other matters maybe yes...Putin has demonstrated he does not like any sanctions on middle eastern nations.
