Yes!!! Wouldn't you want medical care for yourself and your babies if you couldnt afford insurance? We have Anthem BCBS thru my husbands work But its like not having insurance b/c we have a $3000 deductible EACH and we have $1000 deduct.for medications EACH! No vision- no dental. Americans who have paid into the system all their working lives should not have to worry whether or not we can go to the dr. Or E.R. ...its sad that we do however worry about it.

Yes. They should be helped to get well.

Homeless people, just get it over with and kill them all; to the ovens with them - I volunteer to be the first to go ...

well this is a loaded question.

if I say yes...then people will roar about having their tax dollars pay for a non-contributing member of society blah blah blah

if I say no...then I'm a heartless bitch who would rather see the homeless die rather than to provide them with health care.

there is no easy answer to this question. the world we live in is greedy and based on profits over people.

Government helps government. People can and usually do help each other, and animals. Government shouldn't pay for medical care, but should get out of the way so we can do it ourselves.

What if they're temporarily homeless and without money? Should they receive care?

What if they have a tiny home and a high-deductible insurance policy, and are involved in an accident that's not their fault, and the medical care costs far more than what they've paid in? Should they receive care?

What if it's a rich guy who lives in a big house and has some sweet corporate health insurance. At the time he gets in the plan, he has no history of skydiving and indicates same on the application. As part of his mid-life crisis, he decides to skydive on his birthday and is seriously injured. How much health care should he receive?

What about the wealthy couple who are obese slobs and require extensive cardiac care--costing far more than the value paid in premiums. Should they receive care? Should they receive a half million USD more care beyond what they pay in premiums, but the homeless guy who has a minor, easily treatable infection gets no care?

I dont think anyone deserves free healthcare unless everyone gets free healthcare. The only reason homeless cant get free healthcare is because they choose not to be in the system, so my answer is No. Its bad enough people on welfare get free healthcare. I have to pay for everything i have, so why should someone else get things that cost money for free. No one deserves a free ride unless everyone does. People dont respect what they dont have to work for, which explains why wel-fare people dont respect anything, and expect everything.

See obese couple example above. They're getting a half million in health care *above* what they've paid in, whereas the homeless guy gets a couple hundred. Which is a bigger burden on the healthcare system and the broader pool of premium payors? It isn't the homeless guy.

Yes of course they should and they should have a roof over their head as well even if it is just a room.
The World should belong to all of us not just the people lucky enough to have a good job and able to pay.

Everyone should be able to get healthcare, but it should be the same for every single person. That means everyone pays for heathcare or its free to everyone, because the only problem is some get free heathcare, and others have to pay for insurance. Thats whats wrong with America, those who get everything free from the government on welfare are the ones that corrupted and destroyed America. People who never had to work for anything will never respect themselves or anyone else. Nothing should be free just because you cant afford to pay for it, because the rest of us have to pay for what we need and want.

I eat at least once a day at a mission (Salvation Army) and have gotten to know a lot of "homeless" and at risk-population. You would be SHOCKED at how many are veterans and how many just couldn't find work etc.

Young, old, all walks of life and it is growing daily.

BTW, these "PEOPLE" that you do not want to get any health care are on your streets, on your bus/train and in many places trying to get a place to live, eat and work.

The sicker they get, the closer YOU get to catching any illness. CONGRATS!!! ;-)

So your saying homeless people should get shelter food and healthcare for free just because their homeless, while everyone else gets up and goes to work so we can have those things too.

Everyone should have the right to health care. Like here, in Canada.

Healthcare should be universal in any developed nation, imo.

Brought up in the burbs were we.

People are homeless because they have issues and problems.
Mental, physical, addiction, circumstantial, take your pick. Address the issues and problems and a good portion of them can and will become productive members of society.

Or walk over them on the sidewalk where they lay begging and stoned on huff or booze.

If they are not treated with respect and given a hand up, this is what they become.

and its sad, however couldnt find work is just an excuse. They simply gave up, the choices they made got them there. I know i sound mean but if everyone else can manage to not end up homeless they can too. If years go by and you dont have a job its because you quit looking.
