The BDI does not reflect market fundamentals It has been skewed by the fact greek shippers overbuilt in the 2006-2008 period then used death spiral financing to attempt to avoid bankruptcy |

I'm not sure what the purpose of this thread is If it is to reflect angst, thats one thing. If you are trying to determine a direction against which you can take a financial position, then I'm not sure its going to achieve the goal you desire |

Shipping orders have to placed 60-90 days out. That it is this low in the Christmas item shipping season is VERY significant. and you still have money cowboys disregarding it due to the "market fundamentals", and backing it up with simple sentences from their "teachers". oh, blind and awaken at the same time, that cowboy should have realized by now that it can only be in one of those states of mind.. ..both things at the same time = zombie money cowboys |

It was as low as now at the beginning of the year and meant absolutely nothing. Pointing to the BDI for economic doom is like pointing to the S&P and say: "look the S&P is at years high, the economy must be good"! |

Wubbo Ockels User ID: 14726463 Netherlands 09/08/2012 06:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Baltic Dry Index is important for economists, because it almost immediately follows the world economy without any political or other influence. While other economic indicators can be influenced - employment figures are often estimates, consumer confidence measure no more than sentiment, often without link with consumer spending and the Gross domestic product (GDP) is regularly updated - BDI responds only to the volume of world trade. The speculative element of the exhibition is lacking, because a ship is only chartered if cargo has to be transported. He was a true icon of my country, and a great front-fighter for sustainable energie/technology and humanism. "Yes, we have hurdles, we have distractions, we have disasters, personally and world-wide, and we do have to work it all out ourselves. BUT, there is a most amazing experience awaiting us on the other end of the finish-line. The idea being, once we can handle it all down here, then we can live and explore eternally, responsibly, because we know what not to do, and not be resentful about being responsible, so we don't start a polarity domino effect in the other realms of existence." "The Fraction" of Life can be increased in value not so much by increasing your Numerator as by lessening your Denominator. Nay, unless my Algebra deceive me, Unity itself divided by Zero will give Infinity." Thread: LADIES & GENTLEMEN: I PRESENT to YOU OUR NEW SUN !! |
