Elizabeth Robinson, Age 13, Steals Car, Drives 800 Miles To Meet Online Boyfriend

Eight hundred miles is a long way to go to meet any man.

It's even further when you're a 13 year old girl driving your brother's car -- borrowed without permission, of course -- to rendezvous with an online boyfriend whom you've never met in person before.

That's how far Elizabeth Annette Robinson of Cypress, Texas, was willing to go to meet the 12-year-old guy whom she met while playing Xbox over the Internet, according to KHOU-TV.

Last Thursday, Elizabeth decided she'd rather play the game of love for real and stole her mom's ATM card, snuck out her bedroom window, and hopped into her brother's 2011 Nissan Versa, according to KRIV-TV.

Robinson drove north through Arkansas to meet the object of her affection, Dylan, in Nashville, Tenn.

At first when I read this story, I thought "What was she thinking?". Then, I saw where it said her parents are STILL going to take her to see him! Instead of being disciplined, she's being rewarded for being defiant, rebellious, and stealing! At least now I can understand why she didn't weigh out the consequences. She knew there wouldn't be any!!!! Parents today!

It's heartbreakng how the media would try to humiliate her by talking about her weight like that. She's just a little girl! When children are overweight, I don't blame them. I blame the parents. Children don't usually buy the groceries. They eat whatever their parents buy and cook for them. Also, they don't understand the importance of eating healthy. Even if they've heard it, children are not mature enough to understand the long-term effects of not doing so. They will typically follow the eating habits(when to eat, what to eat, how much to eat) of their parents.

Haha..yeah. Cops said they were amazed how she manipulated the roadways. There's no telling how much "experience" this girl had. I'm guessing she'd snuck out many times before.

Back in the good old days, my Dad taught me to drive when I was about twelve. His only criteria was that I could reach the pedals. I taught my daughter to drive at twelve years also. I never tried a road trip at that age though.

My dad started letting me drive at 9 (in rural Alabama where no one was near) and routinely by myself at 13.

There is no way I'd let my kid start driving alone as soon as they had a license. That is why there are so many horrible drivers.

Either way, I admire the girl's grit but at 200 lbs. I imagine she looks 17.

Why is this news?

In Arkansas and Tenessee they all learn to drive early. Its called giving a holler and hopping in the pickup truck to deliver the chicken coop and moonshine to cousin Jared. He lives down by the next turtle pond. And when they get hawngree they share their roadkill vittles

Please don't assume such stereotypes. I happen to live in Alabama. I've lived here all my life, and everyone is not like that. Sure, we have people who fit the "redneck" criteria, but that's just a small percentage of people. Everyone in my family is well-educated with a college degree. None of us have farms, or much less work on them. In fact, I only know a small handful of people who are like that. I have lived here my whole life, and have had the privilege to meet some of the most intelligent, educated, and hard-working people. That's not to mention, they are warm, caring, and polite. Only until I went up North did I realize why they call it "southern hospitality".

Kim Jong-Un stole a car when he was three years old and drove it across the Pacific ocean to smash the US Imperialists. The plan only failed because Bush popped out of a rowboat and started eating babies, so the Great leader had to save the little ones.

LOL. Yeah, that's right. We have 4 seasons : boil you alive summer, just hot summer (fall), you can finally breathe (winter), and almost back to summer (spring).

LOL ! that must be rough. Family ties and more moisture must keep you sane. Were going thru a drought in the midwest right now and Id say about ten percent of our corn died. and its as dry as you hear in the news..
