Actually the reason was that Iraq was in violation of UNSC resolutions. They did also possess several hundred tons of Yellow cake uranium which was later sold, removed/flown to Canada. The real reason though?....Saddamn was shooting at our planes in the no fly zone for years, was offereing money to various terrorist type douchbags and generally being a pain in the ass. Another UN resolution after the invasion did recognize the US and the UK as legitimate occupying powers under international law...but really all that is semantics and not much else.

I thought at the time that it was a good idea to remove Saddam and his psychosons from...life...but the not having a plan in place to just plain takeover the running of the country and doing this "govt democracy 101" training and hand holding program was a mistake IMO...live and learn I suppose...

If you are not prepared to anhilate a country into a smoking cat litter box and kill as many thousands or millions of people that is required to destroy command and control of an enemy state for the next 100 years?...then don't go to war...or deploy the military as the case may be...

The military is not a meals on wheels or educational out reach encounter group...they kill people and break things...that's what they do..if you don't have the stomach for that?....then send the bluehat retards in there to get in touch with peoples feelings or whatever...
