Yeah, I agree on things like don´t beat your dog or cat (have one and I love her) etc. and slaughter cattle/poultry/pigs as fast and painless as possible and treat them as good as possible till they get taken their lives because of filling our bellies, but don´t see every Animal as the harmless furry friend you´d like to see, in the wild you would not spare a wild dog from getting stabbed by you with a hunting knife when he´s attacking you, or would you, if, then be sure, he´ll tear you up, eat you up and shit you out, literally.
