Ex-prosecutor says OJ Simpson's defense attorney tampered with evidence
Nearly 17 years after O.J. Simpson walked away from his Los Angeles murder trial a free man, a prosecutor at the center of the case has alleged that the lead defense lawyer tampered with a crucial piece of evidence.

After Simpson struggled to fit the gloves on his hands - in one of the defining moments of the racially charged trial that captivated the nation - Cochran famously admonished the jury, "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit."

On Thursday, during a panel discussion about the trial at Pace Law School in New York City, Darden, a member of the prosecution team, declared: "I think Johnnie tore the lining. There were some additional tears in the lining so that O.J.'s fingers couldn't go all the way up into the glove."

Who knows...but, Darden was disregarded after that scene in the courtroom, according to Marcia Clark. She said in an interview years ago, that Christopher asking OJ to try on the glove, was not planned. Marcia said they (Dardon & team) hardly ever spoke again after that moment.

Marcia claimed no one knew Dardon was going to do that, and if he had suggested it in talks with the prosecution team, they all would have said no way to allowing that. Marcia said the glove was leather, and had dried blood on it, causing shrinking. She also claimed that OJ, sliding it over a rubber exam glove, did not allow it to fit as well as the shrinkage of the glove. Speculation OJ was also "acting" & taking advantage of ensuring it would not fit. Dardon screwed up.

Sheesh ...

The LA Police Department HAD THE GLOVE both before and AFTER the trial. If the glove had been altered during the trial don't you think they would have noticed it immediately?

Here the person is speculating out the wazoo ... WITHOUT looking at the glove, which since it was a murder case whre someone else might be charged in the future, is STILL IN THE EVIDENCE ROOM OF THE LA PD.

This reads like "sour grapes" to me.

OJ "may" have been guilty ... but the jury clearly believed that the police detectives involved lied and planted evidence, which killed the state's case (there were all sorts of tales floating around the LA criminal defense bar BEFORE the killing even occure about those two detectives planting evidence time after time ... bad apples can happen in any BIG PD and the rumors were that those were two very bad apples)

Wow, check this out - did attorney Shawn Holley admit he knows that Simpson was guilty? He states regarding Darden's assertion that the glove was tampered with -

“Almost 20 years later, it seems Mr. Darden is still trying to exculpate himself from one of the biggest blunders in the history of jurisprudence."

Biggest blunders? A blunder in that an obviously guilty man went free? Hmmmm. Inquiring minds want to know.
