What a horseshit bit of reporting...that trial in the Snowy Mountains has been going on for years now....it's not geo engineering in the sense of chemtrails or haarp...it's cloud seeding something that originated a long time ago. Calling it anything else is just melodramatic.

Think Appalachians...max height about 2000 metres quite high enough for a respectable snow fall each year.

I don't know if they have even reasearched any detrimental effects (can't find anything to note online) ... but whatever they create has to have an affect on areas surrounding their operations because weather patterns constantly move, even if the consequences are just more rain than normal. That in itself may be deemed a detrimental effect if the area receiving more rain has a wet environment to start with.

IMO nature does a pretty good job of keeping things in balance without the need for man to try and tweak it to suit his requirements.

eerrr Dick Derpwad... i did read the posts... the trials of the most recent cloud seeding program in the snowies which cover the main range of the Alps have been taking place over a few years now with some success...they aren't the same as the 50 year old version where dry ice was chucked out the door of a DC3. The current trial has always been in the open, and has always complied with current environmental standards in relation to national parks. I haven't heard the Greens complaining yet...so overall I rate this about 8 cow turds out of 10 on the bullshit news o meter.

If the method has been adopted elsewhere along the Alps ie: in Victoria then it's because it has worked and has no detrimental environmental outcomes....all of the Vic Alps are pretty much a National Park as well.

if you read the link what they say is there appears to be none..it says there appears to be mimimal runoff.My point was even if it "appears" to be none now, we dont dont what effect this will have in say 10 or 100yrs from now.

and-of course any company is going to say the way they make money is harmless,they are saying it has no environmental impact etc-(and that may well be) but it wouldnt be the first time a company has said that either.

Mt Kosciusko is Australia's highest peak and is situated in the Australian Alps. Google Alpine or Kosciusko National Parks. Never go there or speak of them though - it's absolutely awful there!
