Were Italians really spawned by uh..."Moors?"
I just watched True Romance where they tell a story about all Italians being mostly African. Is this true?

Depends on the part of Italy, northern Italians are pretty much French/swiss.

My mother's family are Italian from northern Italy, and they mostly look Germanic

My aunt looked like Virna Lisi

Countries on trading routes like the Mediterranean or on ancient routes like the Spice Road often have a wide variety of hair, eye and skin color

Whatever the source, Italians are very attractive people, so the mix is working for them ...think of Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida, Caterina Murino, Valentina Cervi... Alyssa Milano

just sayin

Italian women mostly are reverse butterflies.

Butterflies until 30 ... then they turn to fat maggots called "mama" dwelling in dimly lit apartments, munching away until they die.

Actually, the Moors migrated across northern Africa from Afghanistan and other Middle Eastern countries, so they weren't really black Africans at all.

Make it more Germanic and part Slavic (on the East), due to the barbaric invasions.
The most "original" you can find in middle Italy, say from Bologna to Napoli, and there is very little african blood in them

On the average, say up to 10 years ago, the african heritage could be around 8%; with the immigration and the low birth rate of the "traditional" italians, just now it could be 15%, less than in most Europe

Re: Were Italians really spawned by uh..."Moors?"
I'm Italian, Op.

We are from the Romans.

It was Leonardo Leccaculo who invented the Italian language in 464AD,
prior this date every Roman spoke officially Latin.

He wrote it up then convinced many to drop Latin for his language with the promise that he would erase the Emperor's taxes when he took over Rome (Italy). The Roman Empire became infuriatingly divided by 466AD between Flavius Ricimer loyalists and the Leccaculo's, and later fought the great battle of "Faccia di Cazzo" in 469AD lasting well over 2yrs.

The Loyalist's won when Leonardo was killed in a freak accident while rallying for more supporters at Piazza Senza Fica in Provincia delPello on March 15th 472AD. His supporters gave up on the battle but not the fight for ending the Empire's taxes by continuing to speak Italian in protest. The new language was an act of independence by Rome's citizens and contagious that by 475AD everyone was speaking the language "Lecca Leo" as it was first named except for those few still loyal to the Empire.

The new language brought upon the Fall of the Roman Empire by 476AD and was renamed "Italian" during the transition of the new Republic. Existing emperor Romulus Augustulus managed to make good on his way out by emptying the coffers of Rome's 1st National bank and The 2nd National bank, leaving the new Republic of Italy's central Bank coin-less. Italy went into panic, implemented austerity measures by ending many new projects started by the old Empire such as the Roman Colosseum but did not cut pays for the thousands of Public officials and workers although borrowed heavily by minting new coin's indebting themselves until this day - and why they are the most indebted European country today.
