I wondered the same thing and considered the idea for my daughter for about 2 years before trying it. All the while, my daughter, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, was becoming less and less responsive to stronger and stronger meds. We were at a juncture in the spring of 2005, having had the Dr. say that she was going to have to bring out "bigger guns" (even stronger meds). Daughter was on Abilify 21 mg and Seroquel 900 mg at the time and things weren't working. Saw an article regarding TrueHope in Discover magazine and gave it a shot. Daughter responded well - although it took a few months to get off the meds and transition to the supplements before we saw her stabilize. The bottom line is that I got my daughter back! And although she has her ups and downs, they are well within normal limits now. We will go without food before we'll go without those supplements. They definitely help!

I have used th is product five years. It works, but you have to go in understanding that it is a process towards health not a pop a pill quick fix.

I bought this for my daughter who is 15. She has had seizures for 10 years and was very depressed and negative. The glass was ALWAYS half empty. I took her to see a Therapist who had put her on many different medications which none of them had worked. Having serizures he said it may take awhile to find the right one. After a year he had mentioned TrueHope. At this point I was willing to try anything and any amount of money just to have a happy duaghter. She had to start out slow with the dosage because of the seizures but she has been on it for a year now and I am here to tell ya it WORKS. She is so positive, happy, organized,kind, and helpful. None of these things were true before. I tell everyone about it. It has been a true blessing.

Yes, I take it daily.

4 capsules, 3 times a day saved my life. The staff there are invaluable. My counselor helped me to get off of my psychiatric medications and onto EMPower Plus - and the change was amazing. It wasn't an easy road - but there was a day 2 weeks into the program where I woke up and felt different.

You know how when you wake up, there's that moment before your brain turns on? That moment when I was mentally ill was the only time of day that I wasn't in pain - either from being up, or down, or anxious. On the 14th day when I woke up, there was no pain. My mind turned on for the day, and I didn't feel tortured.

It's not a magic pill that cures all of your problems as a few have said above. What it does do is to give you the resources to handle your problems. I have choices now when I get upset - I have a minute to think, and make the choice not to be depressed, or anxious. I can see the forest for the trees.

Psychiatric medications weren't the answer for me, as I felt numbed - and the wacky, amazing person that I am didn't like that.

There's another change. See that last paragraph where I called myself "wacky" and "amazing" - I really like who I am now - that wouldn't have happened without these vitamins either.

One last cool thing? My husband is taking them now too. He takes less than me, but he is calmer and happier as well. He used to have a large anger issue when he got stressed out. Though he still struggles with his anger, he feels that he now too has choices. He now has a moment to pause, and decide to be calm.

i have bipolar disorder 1 and i can tell you that empower plus is not too good to be true. i was barely functional, praying for the strength to kill myself everyday or for anything to make me like everyone else, for the pain to go away. i suffered from depression that was so bad that it felt like someone was turning a blow torch on inside my head, i had no friends and was crying myself to sleep sometimes with the anxiety problems i had, i couldnt even sit down and read a book because my head was spinning with thought after thought after thought. i would stay awake for days sometimes and i would then get home and stay in bed and not be able to get out of it for long periods of time. i was on anti depressants and none of them worked. i was planning to kill myself before i heard about empowerplus. figuring i had nothing to lose, i ordered it and within 3 days of being on it i felt exponentially better, all of my symptoms were about 50% improved. i thought i was dreaming but i continued to take it and within about about 5 months i was completely mentally healthy.

i want to have some historical perspective on medicine. 60 years ago doctors routinely told patients with many medical problems to start smoking, it would give them confidence and relax them. in the 19th century the doctor who suggested that other doctors wash their hands after handling patients because he believed that tiny organisms could spread diseases through hand to hand contact was disbarred by the american medical association and died in a mental institution for being considered a radical, there are many more examples i could give. i believe empower plus will be the first line of treatment in mental disorders whether i will live to see it or not, i am not sure but i can almost be sure that if you went to a doctor about empower plus, they would think it was a scam and i am speaking from personal experience. i am not formally associated with the truehope organization so i dont have anything to gain by posting this message

the world expert on bipolar disorder is a man called Dr. charles popper, who routinely uses empower plus on his patients. i am not sure if you are aware but in the past Health Canada tried to take empower plus off the market because they said there wasn't enough research behind it even though the worst side effects that you suffer from empower plus is a sore stomach compared with pharmaceutical medication and of course it was helping thousands of people avoid hell. when Dr. popper testified during the trial, he was asked by the defense what would happen to his patients if empower plus was taken off the market and with hesitating he said 'there would be deaths'. he explained that a certain number of bipolar patients he had would without a doubt commit suicide because their depression was so bad before empower plus. Dr popper aswell as being a professor at harvard university in Boston also practices there and he got the worst of the worst in terms of bipolar patients. people that had been on medication for decades and were hanging onto life by a thread. he said that after he started treating his patients with empower plus that he started to have a lot time on his hands because with empower plus there were so little side effects that when his patients started taking it, he only needed to see them every few months as opposed to seeing them everyday when they were taking pharmaceutical medication.

even if you have read everything above and still think this is scam, what if it not. your daughter could have a whole new life. a few decades from now this could be the normal way that mental disorders are treated. i hope i have made you seriously consider this now. i am going to close by saying and i am being completely serious when i say this. Would i go off empowerplus?

NO, having been through everything i have been through i would be homeless before ever not putting aside the money to pay for this and if someone ever did permanently stop me from taking it i would commit suicide , i am never going back to that, i could not bare it.

My son has been using the product for six years. Getting him off psych. meds. and on Empower Plus has saved his life.
The psych. meds. were only particially effective and he suffered extreme side affects. He was diagnosed as Bipolar, but after everything we went through, I am nots 100% sure. We went to California to Dr. Amen for a spect scan that showed ring of fire BP, we went through treatment with a Dr. of Envirnmental Medicine for allergies and started on the Empower Plus with extra supplements and after three months I had my son back. He is now in College, still suffering from ADHD , but functioning as a normal nineteen year old. He takes 15 capsules a day in three doses, 2000 gms fish oil, 2000 mg vit C, a Super B and probiotics.

OH MY YES - it truly is wonderful. I was raising my adopted grandson. Finally at 10 he was diagnosed ADHD, Autistic, Schizoid effective Bipolar, and recently PTSD.......he was on so many drugs he went from a 75pound little boy in June and two months later weighed 136 - side effects from drugs. Continued to gain up to 168....and that was the least of our problems. He was on Abilify (not supposed to give to anyone under 18 but they did). On Seroquel and Depakote and 3 or four anti-depressants..and nothing worked. Rages, burned my house down, tried to kill himself and threatened to kill me. When he was 12, I was out of my mind and ready to put him into a group home somewhere - then discovered True Hope.

His Psychiatrist, when I told him I was going to switch to True Hope/EmPower Plus, informed me over the top edge of his glasses that "We don't prescribe supplements."......and wrote us off. Refused to see him ever again. I didn't care - something had to happen. He had lost 4 years - lost everything he had learned from 8 to 10 and in such a zombie situation he didn't learn anything from 10 to 12.....wouldn't even let him on the regular campus, he was so bad.

Today he's almost 16. He's a Sophomore in regular class with some remedial for Math and reading. No more rages - he's learning - growing - maturing. It's wonderful.

He takes 15 a day plus Choline occasionally when he gets agitated. I even take it once or twice a day just to help me cope and stay focused (its great for ADHD TOO). My sister takes it daily for same reason.

BY ALL MEANS.....try it. As both a Christian and an R.N., I believe everything we need to function "normally" is in our nutrition, but we don't get that nutrition any more. Not with synthetic fertilizers, preservatives, over processed food, GMO's, etc. Used to say about computers "Garbage in/garbage out." Our bodies are the same. IF we don't get the nutrition it's not gonna work the way it was intended.

BY ALL MEANS........try it. I would bet my life on it..have bet the life of my son, and he's doing marvelous.

I get a phone call at least once a week from my very best girlfriend who lives 10hrs away from me to make sure I'm ok & to check in on my son.
So I told her I'd asked this question on here & decided to read out your responses.
MY OH MY I didn't get very far & I was crying uncontrollably!!! You have all touched me so much with hope & understanding by sharing your stories & I want you all to know I appreciate it so much.

Yes, it works, and is the only treatment that I know will work within a few days of starting. I tend to feel good and try to save money and stop taking it, but it's a mistake. Take it always, and it works. It's expensive and that's why I have quit taking it, but then I regret it. Was slipping in depression and ordered it again just now. Should be spry and happy again by next Friday. This is one and only True Hope for me.

It's the only supplement that works for racing thought and anxiety for me.

May I ask how much it costs? Are there any contraindications? Would like a family member to try this but I sure don't want to make things WORSE THAN THEY ALREADY ARE!!! My loved one has been evaluated by 3 different professionals and each had a different diagnosis ranging from depression and ADHD to explosive disorder to bipolar. Nothing has helped very much and in some instances has only made thoings worse. Our family life has been pure hell for the past few years. Pure hell is an understatement.
