They're probably told the story with some ridiculous BS spin, just like here in the US we're told that Europeans came to the United States and the native inhabitants just happened to accidentally "die off" through diseases they contracted from us.

No one is told that the European settlers are responsible for an American holocaust which in every way is comparable with the German one, and in some ways exceeds it.

This is what I got taught:

When entering 5th grade, we visited Auschwitz.

Sure, you can do all that from the comfort of your home, but it's not the same.
