It isn't illegal in the U.S. for a 15 and 17 year old to have sex. The age of consent in most states is 16, a few southern states may be higher. Adults are classified as 18 and older. Underage 'kids' over the age of consent can legally engage in sexual activity as long as there's no more than a 2 year age difference.

The problem with this is, I can slip a tiny flash card loaded up with kiddy porn into your locker, car, home, desk, office or whatever, and then go phone in an anonymous tip. Hell, one could even hack into your computer, load the hard drive up, and then send off an e-mail threatening the president. You would get v& shortly thereafter and the feds would find all the planted kiddy porn on your hard drive.

I see many knee-jerk reactions in this thread, mostly for good reason. The guy who wrote the article does have a couple of good points though...

They could inject code at the ISP level, or perhaps through the ad servers, to force your computer to display some cp. You are now guilty of a 'very severe crime' and will be dragged away. No one will even try to defend you. In this case you've done nothing wrong but be on the internet.

There is a serious issue there. I fully understand the moral outrage of abuse, especially abuse of children. Making a file illegal, which anyone can inadvertently view on the internet, can and will be abused by tptb.

You don't understand what he's asking. You're the one being unreasonable here. This is not an attempt to make child pornography right. His reasoning is that anyone can be accused of having child pornography very easily and there's no way to prove that you're not. One email and I can make sure you get charged with possession of child pornography.

The problem is, these laws are being used as a weapon against innocent people when they can't find out any easy charges to pin you with. They can ruin your entire life with it, very easily, and good luck trying to find someone to believe you that you didn't do anything.
