Re: California STINK = imminent earthquake?
...

Just saw the news and they said "It's not a natural smell." I call BS on that. As of right now they don't know where it's coming from.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4006593

We started noticing this last night about 11pm to 12am. Sitting outside watching electrical storm, bit moisture flying over So Cal from Mexico. It was fresh, then when that big blob from over the South hit here, the smell came with it.
At first, some light breezes and a new-mown wet hay smell. Then the poop smell. I said sulfer-y smell, or rotten fish. Also, I thought the storm was possibly driving over odor from the Salton Sea area or had picked up moisture from Salton.?
IDK, it is still here at 11 am and very hazy and humid. Thunderstorms re-developing in mountains. Neighbor says it smells like sulfur.
Sometimes we get the dairy farm odor during weather events, but this is a long time for that, and smells slightly different. I honestly can't exactly place the smell in a category.Sulfur, swamp, Salton, rotten hay, dairy farm, all close.
We are 5 miles from San Andreas, felt no tremors lately, but we read about them.?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22952074

Get your ass out of California. Nature will only give you so much warning. What are waiting for? This is clearly it. The big earthquake that California has been dreading is mere hours away now.
 Quoting: ººEATºº

You know, EAT, I haven't been around these boards very long, but I have come to respect you, and what you say, but all things being equal, come on, now. Not everyone can just "up and leave" everything! There are kids, transportation costs, a place to go TO, all your stuff - or animals if you live on a farm, or have lots of animals...

It's easy to say "leave," but not everyone who wants to could do it.

Just sayin'
 Quoting: MB713 19084541

Yes, it ain't easy to leave. However, staying in California will have much more 'headaches' than leaving California.
I might add at this point... DO NOT LISTEN TO ME. Listen to the still small voice in your heart to find out if it is finally the time to flee California.
In the end it doesn't even matter...

If California goes that means no more Hollywood movies, Microsoft, Cisco, Apple, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Yahoo, eBay, etc ?

Besides the incredible human tragedy,,,the economical implications of these companies suddenly disappearing from the world would be unimaginable !

Re: California STINK = imminent earthquake?
They mentioned something on the news that it might be caused by atmospheric inversion which is normally experienced it the desert. Still doesn't make sense.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4006593

"Atmospheric Inversion" just means that the air below is trapped, and cannot dissipate above, because of clouds, high vs low pressure turned around, or whatever....thereby trapping whatever pollution, smells, etc. might be hanging low to the earth.

I do not believe that is the cause of such a large-scale "stink" that is being described, but I guess it's possible. It's also a perfectly good "cover story" for the press!

i would suggest sleeping out of doors, out of the way of any big trees for the next few nights if things start getting too shaky and smelly. i'd probably do it just for the backyard adventure if nothing else.

Re: California STINK = imminent earthquake?
I'm currently attempting to activate my third eye with daily meditation. With pretty meager results so far...

However, I did get two images flashing through my mind today.

1. a hill or small vulcano exploding.

2. two people kissing, in a kinda gross way actually.

The first could be an upcoming seismic event. The second is anyone's guess. Is there a place known for sexually gross people in this region?

(The relevance of this post is probably close to zero, but hey, it's GLP! You guys need to know!)

Maybe they moved their production lines in China cos of the cheap labor but the corporate offices are still in the US so if the main buildings of those companies are destroyed along with all the engineers, research scientists, etc...those companies are finished !

I can't imagine a world without those companies !

Watch for UFO activity

Heard worms crawling to the surface.
Toads will leave their nesting pond 3 days before a quake.
Birds - disappear

My cats have been extra loving since Friday.

The smell of rotting egs is caused by H2S. I don't think SALT levels in somekind of sea caused this.
