One proven sign is animal behavior. the Chinese have known that sign for thousands of years.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 6990196

trouble is, California isn't China and Californian pets are probably as dumb as their owners - with a diet of soda, dunkin donuts, syrup waffles, kfc, macdonalds etc... so their gonna be to dumbed down to move

and you will be too dumb to know the difference bewteen too, two, and to. oh i live in california, and have a border collie and shpinx cat. the two most intelligent breeds of dog and cat, respectively. your post is irrelevant.

Re: California STINK = imminent earthquake?

Up in her room, she gets out of the sack
Goes down to the beach and lies on her back
In the sunshine all day
What's the hurry?

She dreams of long youth
No wrinkles or fat
No thoughts of bedpans or deathbeds
And that keeps her smiling all day
What's the hurry?

An older woman suddenly cried, "The tide is rising!"
And all the guys with Speedos made it first to their cars
But along with the rest, she slept while the crest rose
Twenty feet and higher

The girl kept on dreaming of a honeymoon in France
A handsome fiancee and the way he could dance
Nuestra luna de miel, oye vaco mansando
Devina mujer estamos besando bailando el swim
He made good money, all right
Ain't he bright?

Even the guys with muscles cried, "The tide is rising!"
And all the folks with Porches made it up to the cliffs
A group of kids were praying that I'm sure went up to heaven
But no one tried to surf

It's a tidal wave
It's a watery grave
She really tried to swim
She couldn't in the end

There has been some speculation that the odor is caused by the Salton Sea, where the annual die-off of fish often causes a foul smell. But the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported that officials at the Salton Sea said they don't think the die-off is responsible and that air quality officials are investigating.

The smell was most pronounced in parts of the Inland Empire, which is upwind from the Salton Sea.

Re: California STINK = imminent earthquake?
I live in San Diego and was at Coronado Beach at about 8:30 last night and there was a sulphuric smell in the air big time, I was thinking about it all night. To top it off I was in Long Beach on saturday and there was a gaseous smell in the air near downtown so bad that we had to close the windows to the car. Maybe the Long Beach smell was due to the fact that refineries are all over, but I'm hearing from friends and family in the Inland Empire that its really smelling like sulphur there.

It has began, and so it begins, just look at the location, two quakes a few min ago

[link to earthquake.usgs.gov]
Torchia was born in 1620. He was apprenticed in Leyden under the Elzevir family. After returning to Venice he published small works on philosophical and esoteric themes. In 1666, Torchia published De Umbrarum Regni Novem Portis (The Nine Doors to the Kingdom of Shadows), which was in turn based on the Delomelanicon, or Invocation of Darkness, a work supposedly written by Lucifer and that would allow the reader to summon devils. The Inquisition condemned Torchia for magic and witchcraft and burned him at the stake in 1667.

Re: California STINK = imminent earthquake?
Doesn't rotten egg smell equate to sulfur??? Wouldn't that mean sulfur and brimstone??? damneddamneddamned

Many sulfur compounds are odiferous, and the smell of odorized natural gas, skunk scent, grapefruit, and garlic is due to sulfur compounds. Hydrogen sulfide produced by living organisms imparts the characteristic odor to rotting eggs and other biological processes....

Re: California STINK = imminent earthquake?
CA Stink and huge earthquake on the horizon. (NOT YEA)

Yea, I know we all dislike California hoping for a huge earthquake may not be a good thing for all if us.

Should California be distroyed and LA and SAN FRAN get wiped off the planet that will be a bad thing.

ECONOMICS:
California, is the worlds 8th largest economy. If they crash the us economy will crash along with it.

FOOD:
They supply 60% of the nations produce, no more celry or tomatos!

GAS:
There are a great deal of refineries located in CA when they shut down for weeks gas prices will go thru the celing.

Most of the nations imports originate from California this would stress every store in the nation. Acceability to evryday items that you need would be put to a stop. That would be the harbors, ports, rail pipelines and trucking.

Watch what you wish for.

Be Well,

From weatherspace.com

The sulfur smell is said to be caused by dead fish, however with the recent quake activity down there it very well could be geological ... as the Southern Salton Sea has dormant volcanic activity.

[link to www.theweatherspace.com]

I've never smelled a dead fish that smelled like sulphur, they smell like dead fish and it's different.

About a month ago I smelled gaseous smell in Long Beach as we were leaving there and it really creeped me out. Since then I've noticed the smell on different days in my travels - in Yorba Linda, Brea, and Inland Empire. Now this big sulphur thing - wow - making me nervous!

I'm currently attempting to activate my third eye with daily meditation. With pretty meager results so far...

However, I did get two images flashing through my mind today.

1. a hill or small vulcano exploding.

2. two people kissing, in a kinda gross way actually.

The first could be an upcoming seismic event. The second is anyone's guess. Is there a place known for sexually gross people in this region?

(The relevance of this post is probably close to zero, but hey, it's GLP! You guys need to know!)
