Dozens of people in the northern San Fernando Valley have reported a rotten egg-like odor this morning, a smell that's also been reported as far away as Simi Valley and the Inland Empire.



Firefighters have not identified any source of the smell or any hazard. Because there were no specific sources reported for the smell, there's been nothing for firefighters to check out, Humphrey said.

I live in Menifee and woke up around 2am this morning to the wretched smell of rotten eggs coming in my window. It was stong enough to wake me from my deep sleep and made me feel nauseous. The smell was still lingering at 8am when I left for work.
