Time to rethink our Universe......Hubble has now discovered a galaxy that is so old and well formed, it should not exist!

dude do you not get it i am not saying anything more then what the people who are using the high tech equipment are saying.

READ up on Edwin Hubble, Physicists Paul Dirac,Carl Anderson, and Andrei Sakharov. They all worked on a simple theory of why there is something instead of nothing. Antimatter, Annihilation principles, the Majoron.

Read up on the differences between cosmic coincidence and anthropic principles. Why we have an entropic universe and the reason behind Heisenbergs uncertainty principle, and last but not least THE MANY WORLDS THEORY by Hugh Everett III. Then comeback with your simple GMAFB statement you simple minded covale!

To make a long rant short: No scientist says that this galaxy shouldn't exist.

They said they are surprised by it, astounded that it DOES exist, but never that it SHOULDN'T exist. "Sheeplefication" or "newsy" or whatever the guck that YouTube came from sensationalized it and you fed into it.

EVERYTHING, including history, as in the light placed to denote ALL the distant planets was created by God---thats Jesus Christ, the infinite God.

when are they going to admit that just because the light is there doesn't mean so and so is X old---what is sure is God put the celestial bodies their with the required light to denote its proper proportion, distance and perspective in order to have the universe function ======duhhh!!!!!!!

yeah and so what if he created this huge explosion of celestial bodies, including light history in the blink of an eye.

still no proof of age.

how in the heck do these genius scientist know God didn't instantly expand that explosion to point xyz---including the dam light distance travel?

there was a huge divide between math and physics...hard to believe today but this was the way then.
by blending these two areas through the work of an early pioneer of the theory, Edward Lorenz whose interest in chaos came about accidentally through his work on weather prediction in 1961 we ended up with the Chaos Theory.

the first book i read about Chaos stated the new marriage of math and physic would bring in the age of Chaos....true knowledge would not come until science as a whole can blend with religion.

sorry to say from what i have read here today we humans might be sometime away from that marriage.

I don't have any problem with the possibility that the galaxy exists.

I do have a problem with the sensationalistic nature of "news" these days that takes a rational topic and twists it to make it more appeal, get more hits/views, etc.

Why does it have to be "RETHINK EVERYTHING! THIS CANNOT BE OMGOMGOMG!!!!!!!"? Why can't it just be "10.7 Billion-Year-Old Galaxy Discovered, Oldest Ever Found"?

The whole point of science is to test hypotheses and revise your understanding. If you're going into it with a firm bias, you're doing it wrong.

Thread titles are like newspaper headlines. They're a short, concise summary of the article/post.

If you're tainting the way people look at the content before they even see it, the resulting discussion is inherently biased.

I'm defending the OP a good friend and adept study, the whole theory behind the other worlds postulation,and other readers that may be persuaded by someone who hasn't taken the needed time to 'try' and understand it. This isn't the space and time correlation done in five minutes, this is slowly taking in bits and pieces of whats given over years to somehow wrap our minds around a multiverse that at this point has no truth. Thats funny , I had a Physics prof. tell me there was no big bang it all started with a little poof. He said the big bang would have provided way to much Helium and not enough Hydrogen,it did just chill into being(personal belief).
