Quoting: KoFFee_ Roasting them seems pretty easy. How are things in Wisconsin? My son and I have been eying that state for a future trip. Roasting is really easy. It takes a few tries to fine tune it to your taste, but a really simple process. I've done it in cast iron over a fire before. LoL. Most folks visit Wisconsin in the Summer, but I love canoeing in the Fall. ;-`) Fall sounds perfect and colorful! That's a beautiful picture you posted! Now I have to show off one that my son took in Lapeer, MI: :rdt3: However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24 "This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7 |

I can do without a lot of things, coffee isn't one of them. Same here, except I think I could've done with less today--I just realized I'm on my 4th cup and feeling a little jittery. 4th cup jitters ? That must be some coffee ! I'm usually carrying #4 out the door with me for the drive to work ! If you have a Freds nearby, go stock up. $2.50 a brick for the store brand and it's drinkable. |

My problem is not the caffeine, I just love the flavor of a good cup of coffee! So I missed it, and after a few months went back to my daily 4-5 cups. Iced coffee isn't so diluted that way when you use the cubes. Leftover coffee is good in beef stew, too. I usually add a little to the broth when I make it in the crock pot. Rub steaks with the morning's wet coffee grounds, grill over open coals. MMMMMMMMM - Amazing! When you think about the things that would be in demand during and after a collapse, you know that COFFEE will be near the top of the list! So, what’s the best way to buy coffee so that it will store for a long time? Buy ‘green’. That is, green coffee beans. What are green coffee beans? They are coffee beans in their natural state, before roasting! When you buy them in the store, they’ve already been roasted. I’ve read a number of articles over the years regarding roasting your own green coffee beans, and it apparently is not that difficult. I admit that at this time I’ve not done it myself, but it seems pretty darn simple. It’s all a matter of how long they’re roasted as to the resulting strength of the flavor.
