Re: Christians Avoid Certain Bible Passages
Aside from the context issue, it never seems to occur to these people that Christians are tired of having to sit under a spotlight while hostile punks fire questions at them and then laugh no matter what the answer. And if you make them sit under the spotlight and demand that unless they can answer every little thing their view is invalid, they scream bloody murder and run away. Christians are tired of entertaining the inquisitor punks.

why would Jesus say repeatedly to give up EVERYTHING you own, sell ALL your possessions, and follow him? Why would he say that He had no place to lay His head (which means he had no home, no possessions, etc)??

your thread is over. you cannot make this point.
give it up.

Romans 13

New International Version (NIV)
Submission to Governing Authorities

13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

My conclusion is slavery is not a sin. Jesus is perfect.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22741000

Slavery is not a sin? Tell that to the parents of children abducted for the sex slave trade.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23578264

Well if Jesus said give away everything you own then that includes slaves right? Don't you get it?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22741000

Jesus way is to have no slaves. For I tell you he had not one.

Don't you get it?

Give a man his freedom and he will still die by his sin.

Give a man Christ and he will be eternally free.

Sal, the only thing that matters is respect. Their beliefs are respected as long as they do not interfere in my beliefs. That's what we call freedom of speech. I'm sure you would find ridiculous the stories of the Bhagavad Gita or the Qur'an. The Christian religion can not be the owner of the truth about God because it is not the only nor the largest religion in the world. Know Buddhism? And Zoroastrianism? Religions are beautiful and deserve the same respect as Christianity. Any religion is true? Only a fool thinks in those terms.

if every person who says he believes in god, god fearing and obeying its precepts, this world would be much better. If every Christian were obedient instead of being hypocritical, this world would be much better. If every Christian was even a Christian, this world would be much better. I could create a discussion: why Christians do not obey the laws of God? Why do Christians kill, steal, cheat, are envious, are violent? What's the point of being a Christian and not do what Christ said? Why are Christian, those who believe in the existence of God, are not obedient to the creator? So?

What good defending God and Jesus if you do not care what they determine?

Are you a good Christian? Oh, I'm sorry! I think everyone says that ...

Any time you received a punishment from God? And some good Christian who has had some pain? Was it a punishment from God? And people are happy, but they are not good Christians? They will receive some punishment from God? And would God punish someone? I owe nothing to God, not my life, because according to Christians, life is not mine, is from God. So why should I fear for something that does not belong to me? And because God would punish ignorant beings like us? Because God does not come down and rule the world. He could even elect their servants to help rule the world. Did he already do that? Will throw bombs divine rulers in ignorant infidels?

ok. The video serves to think about.

I believe in the power of faith, but faith is a mysterious power that has nothing to do with God. Faith can cause miracles in the name of God or the Devil. And that is why there are so many religions and so many beings that are worshiped and making miracles. It all depends on faith. And I have faith in myself. I could put my faith in the powerful money or Satan. Or I could put my faith in Jesus Christ as you. But I prefer to have faith in myself.

sometimes the ignorance is in those that believe[baaleve] they have been told what is truth and are in a box for their own minds, never being able to perceive what might be right in front of them

the human mund is a study that most dont look into, they only cling to opinions or topics that relate to their own reality, never knowing that to find truth ,you have to look at all sides and come into your OWN reality with discernment, not the one that has been given to the masses

There is one divine plan. Ephesians 4:5 states
there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. It is
a person's free will choice to follow God's loving
plan or not so do not wait until tomorrow. You do not know
your last day. Pray, pray, pray. And....

Repent and confess your sins now, get right with God.
You need His grace in your soul. Catholics go to Confession
and if you have never been baptized, look into it today~~~!

Millions Need Your Assistance
Children of My Divine Heart,
I thirst for you. I desire to abide in you. I Am the Alpha and the Omega. I Am the Author of All Things. I Am. Open your hearts to Me. Surrender your lives to Me. Abandon yourselves completely under My care. Give Me permission to transfigure you. I desire to transform you into receptacles of My mercy, love, and compassion. I will grace you with the desire of your heart, if you allow Me to. I will heal you, speak to your heart, and guide you to Me. I need many prayer warriors in all parts of the world. I still await your words of acceptance, and of submission to My divine will. Please comply. I urge you to set aside your agendas, and to embrace My plans for you. Millions are now lost. Millions need your assistance in order to return to the fold. Should you refuse Me, they will be thrown into the abyss. Your prayers will help them to convert, guide them back to Me, and call down blessings. My Little Ones, will you allow Me to use you? This day, I invite you to be still. Know that I Am, your God, desires to bless you in a very special way. Be silent. Abandon the ways of the world, and come to Me in adoration. Pray. Pray for time is of the essence. Storms rage in many parts of the Earth, and purification is underway. Pray for all those who will be torn away from their families, for those who will be injured, for those who will perish so that they will accept Me before their passing. Pray. Pray with all your heart. Thank you for responding to My call. I count on your efforts more than ever, and will work miracles through each, and every one of you. I bless you, Children of Light. I bless you, and place My kiss upon your souls. Rejoice for My favor will remain with you as long as you make yourselves obedient, humble yourselves before My sight, walk in faith, and rely on Me to provide as never before. Children, expect miracles to befall you. My will be done. Shalom

Wolves manipulate the feelings of people of faith and turned into lambs for slaughter. Religion is one of the greatest causes of suffering and misery for mankind. While the people have manipulated their power of faith, we will be slaves to God that incites hatred and intolerance.

 Quoting: Judethz

In other words, you're tired of defending the evil advise of the bible such as Luke 12:47 where Jesus tells is to beat slaves. You can not. So I ask you once again to turn to the European God. The God of our fathers and mothers. Not this Roman Jesus. You have been lied to, a slave of an invader god.

You are a liar and slanderer. I already corrected you. Just another anti-Christ deceiver. Pathetic.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23522564

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23578264

No, why would you think such a stupid thing? And if someone is telling a story, does that mean that person is advocating everything he says? No! He is just telling a story of things that happen. And how exactly am I a liar? And lol at you saying I worship the prince of lies. Since I am not anti-Christ like you, I follow Yeshua and his Father while it is you who has rejected the truth and pledged your allegiance to the Beast. Well done. Look, one eye, you haven't a clue what is TRUTH. You are simply believing something that makes YOU happy. Your religion is all about you. You are selfish and cruel hearted. You worship a God that kills babies and you don't give a damn. You believe a donkey can talk human language and you then claim to be sane. Please, give us a break.

I always thought that God said his religion was supposed to be simple. Why does it take years and years to study it? What these people are doing is simple to see. They are taking each Scripture verse which portrays a barbaric, cruel, demonic God and they are twisting and turning it until it becomes sweet. They make lemonade out of the Bible but the BIble is not lemonade at all. God is a lemon, sour and bitter. Why do you have to add sugar and water to sweeten and dilute this crap you call Scripture. The Scriptures speak for themselves. God would be a demon if he were real, which he is not, but that is for another time. God killed around 3 million people in the BIble, again, you don't care because we all know it is all about YOU.

What is more, YOU KNOW that God is worse than Hitler. BUt you have to cling to these silly ideas that twist God up until he is nothing like he really is in Scripture. Just read the words in the Bible AS THEY REALLY ARE. It shouldn't take years and years of study to know that donkeys don't talk and the sun doesn't stand still. It shouldn't take charlatans to tell you that a God who kills babies is not a good God. GROW UP. YOu need psychological help.

It is truly easy for someone to read words and fail to grasp the meaning and speak solely of their interpretation feeling confident they are correct in their narrow vision. These people have no clue as to the purpose of the Gospel of Luke or the message that he was trying to relay. Since you cherry pick passages giving it your limited perspective I sincerely doubt you would put any effort into understanding anything in the Bible that does not help you affirm your hate and intolerance.
