They listen to what he says instead of watching what he does. He's a good looking, charismatic black man. Easy to like. However, I don't think the Libyans, Yemenis, Somalians, Mexicans, or Syrians (or Afghanis or Iraqis) like him much.

People are easily won over that don't dig below the surface.

Make a google image search for Obama, and you will find he smiles on a lot of pictures. Smiling people are friendly. Ergo, Obama is a good guy.
